Right? Might want to build a strong high fence/wall along the track because it looks a too little close to the field there.

Daytona is huge and that is the problem. The seating is just too far away. There are plenty of areas to even build a stadium inside the track, but they have so many different things that it would most likely require shutting something else down. Locker rooms and medical may also be a problem.

Orlando is 2:30-3 hours without traffic and easily is 3:30 hours or more. It's also not a Jags fan city. They are forced to show away games and actually have apologized on air for not showing the Dolphins and/or Bucs.

Gainesville is closer and has the stadium ready. The grass won't hold up though. Then the roads aren't large, potential issues with scheduling, and UF fans may not travel 2 times a weekend.

I'm sure the NFLPA would complain about the air quality. Maybe they could do a double header thing.

The best option is to do the 4 year plan but that will cost more. They also have to think about the college bowl game, UGA/UF, and anything else planned that couldn't be held.

Giving up the UGA vs UF game could cause it to end as once UGA gets it back on campus, it won't be coming back.

There are also some ideas of building a stadium or temporary seating for UNF or JU colleges and playing there to keep it in the city.

Use cardboard cutouts for fans and stay put. Problem solved. 🫠

They may have looked at doing that but I'm sure they couldn't get it OSHA approved to still play in the stadium. 4 year plan does have fans in the stadium.

They have looked at every option, even building a smaller stadium next door and then tearing it down once done. Just no great options since there isn't a better location to build and no major colleges in the city.

Is building a roof over the current one cheaper than building a new stadium altogether?

FWIW, Ben Hill uses Bermuda grass, which is the same setup as Miami's Hard Rock stadium. The latter hosts the Dolphins and Hurricanes. I don't know of any recent public rankings of turf quality, but Miami's was highly regarded back in the day: https://www.si.com/nfl/2015/09/29/nf...grass-rankings
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Depends as they are looking at 1 billion range right now but I think that includes the entertainment zone outside the stadium. It's definitely cheaper but not a ton cheaper.

The stadium was never fully torn down when the current one was built. The home side structure was gutted and built from that. They basically will take it down to the bones again and redo the electrical and plumbing as those need work. Then remove the old ramps and replace those, also widening the concourses. Then add the shade/roof part.

It will work but needs to be replaced a few times a season and that requires both teams being away. UF may not want the impact to them with the field being torn up. It's not a huge concern but it will add costs.

That’s deeply layered. I love adding all the city and team specific stuff in such a subtle way. Very cool.

I read somewhere that the number of pixels are equal to the number of starting QBs since 1999. [emoji1]

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
