I did like the Richardson pick. With Hillis gone, they needed a running game badly.

Don't know what this means for McCoy, though, other than qb competition.
Agreed, there is still quality players left in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

As for McCoy, trading him would probably be best, we dont need competition. Getting Weeden in the 1st= starter right away IMO

Either way, I like Irvin and after re-reading your last post, while I think it was high, Seattle probably did the right thing because he most likely would not have been there at 43.
Carroll just said on the radio here that he had an offer to trade out of 15 but didn't take it. Said he felt too strongly that the Jets would take him, which also lines up with the tweet I posted from Rob Rang.

I totally disagree. I think a good QB can make this offense look better. I think Richardson is Top Notch the minute he steps on an NFL field. That makes it far above middle of the road.

You must be one of those Browns fans who wanted Kalil if he was there. Browns fans are foolish with this offensive line stuff. We have an average offensive line, below average if we don't replace Cousins, which we will. The line is fine, it's time to get playmakers.
I'm going to have to say that you are THE ONLY PERSON I have heard that thinks our offensive line is "fine". Our biggest hole on the roster is at right tackle and that is according to most NFL experts, NFL Network, ESPN, Yahoo, etc. Can we still fill that hole? Yes. The right side of our line was THE WORST in the NFL by far. Oneil Cousins who is penciled in to start at right tackle was our 3rd string at RT last year. Any left end with speed last year went almost untouched off the line. Most teams didn't even have to blitz to get pressure. Piston will be ok at guard, Luavao is bad, Pashos was HORRIBLE.

I can honestly name 11 drops on 3 rd down to wide open receivers right off the top of my head that would have given us 1st downs. 6 of those were in scoring range in a one score game. How are those Colts fault?

I respect that you want a better team... I do as well. But I'm lost on your logic. We are a BAD team (on offense). Little damn near led the league in drops (does he have the talent to be great... Yes he does and hopefully he takes some strides this year). I just don't see where you are coming from other than a homerism standpoint.

To add to that, no o didn't want Kalil unless Richardson and Blackmon were gone. I'm not disagreeing with the Weeden pick. I'm just saying that you are assuming that we are a much better team than last year and that's just not the case. We lost several key players in free agency, gained none. Right now I would say we are still a step behind where we finished last year and everyone is a year older. We made an upgrade over our hb last year. A sideways move at QB. Lost one of our key defensive backs in Mike Adams. Our gaping hole on the oline got bigger with Pashos being injured and cut. Lost to injury and cut another key lineman in Steinbach. Watson and Moore (love em to death but...) Both have concussion problems. And I would like to reiterate.... we led the NFL in drops by a large margin. Right now... If we don't upgrade WR, RT at least. We are not gonna win more than 5 games.

At this point Weeden almost has to start. If he doesn't I'm calling it a wasted pick just in terms of we need help now as opposed to later and there were several immediate impact players available at 22.

So David Wilson is smaller than Bradshaw, and we still lack a bruiser back and competent offensive linemen. Can't wait to see Reese's master plan in all this.

Wilson's a beast. Can't just look at size unless you just want a Jacobs clone to plug in.

Wilson won't tip toe to the line.

Still some good D-Line talent available so hopefully TT continues to address the Defense for today at least.

I still LOVE the Nick Perry selection too. 6'2, 270 and runs a 4.5 40 so at least I know the physical part is there, so now it's about making the transition from having his hand in the ground to rushing the QB standing up. He'll definitely have some help in that regard learning from one of the best to do it in Kevin Greene and watching Clay.

                      A couple quick notes..

I think the Rams have set themselves up to have a great draft, i wasnt thrilled with the brockers pick, i think he'll be a bust. but with 3 picks in the 2nd round they are doing well.
I hope Kendall Reyes gets drafted into a good system that allows him to max his potential. and im content with the giants pick of RB Wilson. we need a rb badly, though i think taking fleener would've made our offense more lethal than before. we have had success drafting late round rbs, i think we need to go LB here, i hope lavonte david and/or Bobby Wagner is there. if not, i would trade up for Wagner, i love the potential in this kid, his production is similar to Kuechly's.

Reyes is actually a guy I'm looking out for for Baltimore. Him or Jerel Worthy would make good 5 technique DE's. Not saying we will take him but wouldn't be surprised if we did.

May have been a reach, but, I refuse to knock on any move the Giants make. Reese has proven to be one of, if not, the best GMs in football.

I think Giants wanted Martin, and TB pulled a fast one on 'em.

                            Re: 2012 NFL Draft Thread.

I can only hope and pray that Alshon Jeffrey falls to us at the 67th pick. Of course, I don't think the Vikings would take him, which still leaves me hope that we could grab Tommy Streeter as well, but that's a discussion for the third and final day of the draft.

My top picks that we could take with our third round pick, whether we trade back or not, in no particular order:

                            1. Kelechi Osemele - Matt Kalil only solves one of our offensive line problems, we still need another guard. One thing I'd like to see is us draft Osemele and move Charlie Johnson to left guard. I personally love Phil Loadholt so I don't want to see us take another tackle later in the draft.

                            2. Brandon Taylor - Now, this a pick I want IF we decide not to move Antonie Winfield to safety. I believe he'd be a start right away as we have two of the most inconsistent safeties in the league.

                            3. Zach Brown - I'll say this right off the bat. I have a thing for North Carolina players. I don't know what it is, there's just something about the team that makes me fall in love with all of their players. If we could resign E.J., having E.J. and Greenway to have Brown learn under would be something that he would benefit from greatly. Now, I do expect him to start right away coming into the league, but it doesn't hurt having two above average linebackers next to you.
