Well this kind of makes sense now, wonder what Russell Wilson's hand size is.

10.25 inches at the 2012 NFL Combine.

Imagine if a QB had the hands of Jim Druckenmiller (amazing last name) and wasn't a bust. He had a hand size of 11.25 inches, which is 3/4 inch larger than Hakeem Nicks, who already has huge hands.

I think it's important to note that Geno is a second round pick. If he doesn't pan out it really isn't a big deal. I wonder when the Jets won't take so much crap for every little thing that happens there.

I disagree. The Jets are a team that needs help pretty much everywhere. Instead they use a 2nd round pick on QB, a position they already had a lot of. I mean seriously, what other team has ever had a freaking 4 way open competition for the starting QB job?

If Geno doesn't pan out and you could have used that pick on something of value for someone that was chosen later than him, then they should and will take crap for it.

Wonder no more, the answer is never. Unless they ever move the draft location.

It's not a 6 or 5 or 4 man competition. It's a 3 way competition. Anyone paying attention would know that.

If ESPN wasn't talking about it every second, no one would care. They're not a playoff team/contender. They are a rebuilding team.

Is anyone talking as much about the Eagles and their 4 QBs?

Sure, they might need help everywhere but that's still including QB.

Had they taken Geno with one of those two 1sts, I could see the argument for it being a bad idea. Using a 2nd rounder on a guy that could have potentially gone 1st overall though? I don't see an issue. The pros of Geno panning out to be a good-great QB far outweigh the cons of him being a bust.

Plus, if Sanchez doesn't show any signs of improvement, they can start moving in a new direction under center during the season rather than having to wait until next season.

I lean more towards rangerrick's thinking. No QB's were "sure things" this year. Not even close. So why not let Garrard, Samchez, and McElroy compete in a year that you know is gonna be a down year and potentially grab someone that could've been penciled in as a starter w/ a learning curve not as steep as being a QB. Aren't there even talks of this season being chalked up w/ Ryan out next year? We all know how new coaches like their own QB's. QB was not an immediate need. You have two QBs that have won playoff games there. Is there room for upgrading? Hell yea. Need as in a hole? No.

That's how they drafted. They didn't not reach with 2 picks in the first round. And they did not trade up in the 2nd round to get him. They stuck to their draft board.

I don't get people sometimes. Mark Sanchez was regarded last year as if not one of the worst QBs in the league or at least one of the most overpaid/under performing QBs in the league.

And now people are questioning how in the world the Jets could use a 2nd round pick on a QB and how could they cut Tim Tebow. Really?

Do you think a 2nd round WR or TE could make Mark Sanchez infinitely better than he was last year?

Do I think giving Sanchez weapons would make him better? Um, yes. Typically giving a QB weapons is a better indication to see how good he is rather than watching how he played on an over hyped garbage team the previous year. See the Bengals and Rams draft. Never said anything about Tebow.

I must have missed the 2 AFC Championship games he's been to.

He won't win games or go off like Rodgers or Brees can, but with a decent team around him he can win games. To say otherwise is just absurd.
