Browns needed quantity and they filled a lot of holes with those picks.
My fault on Alex Mack. Years crossed.

What holes were filled? Do any of those players start? And if they do, that could be the reason why the Browns aren't a good team.

Let me add that I love Julio Jones and wish he was a Brown but if Weeden can take a step forward this year the Browns landed 3 solid starters and ammo to get Richardson which helped speed up our rebuild.

If Weeden can't take a positive step forward the trade isn't so good.

Marecic is terrible, waste of a 4th rounder.

Weeden, Taylor, Little, and Richardson are all starters, Marecic is as well although I wish he wasn't.

Those players are not the reason the Browns are bad (remains to be seen with Weeden like I said), our roster was a mess before those drafts, those drafts filled a lot of holes between the picks we acquired and our own.

There aren't enough words in the English language to describe my virulent hatred for the New England Patriots.

Why? He's a perfect flex TE, and if they want to go up tempo gives them a ton of flexibility from a matchup perspective. You essentially can go 22 personel, and force the defense in a bind if they go nickel or base personel. Much like the Pats do with their TE group.

Hell it gives them that ability even if they don't go uptempo, but when they are up tempo down and distance don't play as much of a factor in the defense deciding their personel group and you can force them to stick to one or the other.

Like the Chargers pick of Fluker, oline was obviously a glaring need, and RT has been a gaping hole since about 2001. Between Shane Olivea and Jeromey Clary San Diego hasn't had a RT that would start for any other team in the league. I suspect they try to move Clary inside to guard, and he may be a better fit there.

Well the 49ers needed a safety.
It's just like last year. Rams were going to take Jenkins so they moved up to get him.
Bengals were going to take Reid so moved up to get him.

Thankfully there's still a lot of good players available and either way that 2nd pick in round 2 is of high value.

Well that was a disappointing day 1 as a Cowboys fan. Can't help but feel like we could've gotten better value in a trade down or stayed put to draft a player that we actually had a 1st round grade on. At 31, I would've preferred to see us snag Warford or Cyprien. Frederick likely would've been there at our 2nd pick or even in the 3rd... Darn

Although I will say I do like the fact Jerry didnt force a flashier pick there and instead addressed our biggest weakness, just wish we didn't reach so far for him. Hopefully day 2 yields better results & value.

                  Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion

It really depends on the team that is trading down. If you look at some notable players on the Patriots roster, they have quite a solid group of picks that represent what the Patriots received yesterday from the Vikings.

Tom Brady - 6th round (Not what the Patriots received, but is a late round pick)
                  Ryan Mallet - 3rd round

                  Stevan Ridley - 3rd round
                  Shane Vereen - 2nd round

                  Julian Edelman - 7th round

                  Rob Gronkowski - 2nd round
                  Aaron Hernandez - 4th round

                  Sebastian Vollmer - 2nd round
Marcus Cannon - 5th round (late round pick)

                  Brandon Spikes - 2nd round

                  Former players:
Matt Cassel - 7th round (helped them get a 2nd round pick)

They could possibly do well with those 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th round picks...

Wouldn't it be completely hilarious if the Seahawks end up drafting Manti T'eo? I almost want it to happen, but not if we have the chance at Jonathan Jenkins...

Wouldn't even make sense to do that with Bobby Wagner already in the middle.

Phil Taylor is an excellent DT and one of the better ones in the NFL, IMO.

Weeden...we'll see. He's going to play in an offense that is much more suited to his talents.

Richardson...he has a lot of talent. We'll see.

Little, later in the year, finally got over his dropping the ball problem. He is a decent #2.

                          The fullback was ****.

Jones is one hell of a player, though. I'd love to have him.

Welp as a Cowboys fan all i can do is smh, trading down to get a 2nd or 3rd rd guy makes no sense at all, but we have the worse gm in sports (Jerry Jones) so its no surprise. I swear if his football knowledge was as good as his business sense Cowboys would have no problem being a top tier team on a yearly basis.

I don't know much about the guy, but Cowboys were high on him it seems.

Me either but I dont have a problem with the guy because we do need a new center my only issue is we couldve kept the 18th pick and picked a better player and still couldve got this guy in a later round.
