    Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion

There were criticisms of the Sanchez pick at the time.

His arm strength was questioned by some because of the windy conditions of late season games in the NE.

I think with the Jets receiving the 13th overall pick from the Bucs it is pretty certain that they will pick up a quarterback with one of those 2, whether it be Barkley or Smith.

If Packers can't get Cyprien or Vaccaro I'd like them to trade back because even though it's a good safety class It's a big drop off after them.

I'd put Matt Elam with them, and he'll be there. I'll be kind of surprised if Cyprien isn't there.

Yeah, he fits what they want as far *Physical* going forward, just not sure about his coverage skills.

Id be surprised if the Jets took a QB this year in the first round.

                Me too.

But if Geno slips and is there at 9, we'd be in a pickle.

As a fan, I wouldn't want them to pass on him if he's there. But we have so many holes and need Day 1 starters with our first 3-4 picks.

The Jets best bet imo would be Mingo or Ansah at #9, Tavon Austin at #13 then EJ Manuel either by trading up into the end of the 1st or hoping he's there in the 2nd.

Austin would be a playmaker, especially after Wallace leaving. I can see the pick, if he falls. Only concern would be if Haley could utilize him correctly.

At 9, I want Jordan. Everything says he won't be there though. Mingo seems to be the popular choice but he scares me because of his lack of size. Reminds me of Vernon Gholston. I don't mind us taking him but he'd scare me until I see him on the field against bigger OL. Ansah doesn't worry me as much. I just haven't seen enough tape of him to figure out what he really brings to the table.

I don't want Tavon. If he's there at 13, I look to trade out. STL and MIN surely want him. I trade down with STL and take Cordarelle at 16. I think Cordarelle has 'elite' WR written all over him.

                                Gholston 6'4, 258, 4.58 40
                                Mingo 6'4, 241, 4.56 40

Those are only measurables and Mingo seems to have a much higher motor while Gholston had more strength.

The Jets need a 3-4 OLB that can play with one hand down but also drop back into coverage. Mingo, right now, is strictly an edge rusher. I'm concerned if he can do more than just that. Jordan is 6'6 and can do both.

People always want to make comparisons, but he's no Von Miller. At least IMO.
