Ok maybe not ease like it was easy what I'm saying was heading into the season Wilson had low expectations no one really thought he was going start. He earned it got the job done.

He definitely earned the job but my point is he did that before week 1... can't see how anyone can "ease" into something between the draft and week 1. Basically I think you're focusing on the wrong thing. Expectations wouldn't have made anything different for Wilson. The wrong system could have. I'm not sure if you think Manuel needs seasoning and should be eased in by sitting behind a starter for weeks, years... or you're just saying he should go to a team with a starter he has a chance of beating out (BUF) but not where he'd be expected to start right away (Jets).

Problem with the 2nd (what I think you mean) is if he's got the talent to beat out someone for a starting job then it shouldn't matter either way.

It seems like a lot of receivers stock has gone down lately. Robert Woods, Justin Hunter, DaRick Rodgers, Keenan Allen and Terrence Williams were all projected first rounders at one point but most have slid to the second or third. The pro days will be huge for these guys. Here's hoping Seattle grabs one.

I don't think it's really their stock falling. More just the depth at the position in the mid-rounds drives down the value. Patterson and Austin are really the only two that have managed to wow anyone.

Allen will be a first rounder. The draft has so many quality O-linemen, LBs and DBs that teams will hold off on drafting a WR so high.

I think Woods is gong to be a good value pick if he ends up late 2nd-early 3rd.

Speaking of WR depth,FSU WR Rodney Smith could be a name to watch in the later rounds. Has great size and decent speed to go along with it.

There are going to be a ton of quality undrafted FA WRs.

He has hell of talent but yes I do think he does need a little seasoning I guess I worded it incorrectly thats all I was trying say lol.

Not trying to give you crap for your post, trying to see what you meant to say. I personally think he'd be best going somewhere he can sit behind somebody (for say a year). It sounded like that's what you were saying but comparing him to Wilson gives the impression of him still behind center at the start of the season. I think he needs more seasoning than that.

He was one of the 7th Round picks I had the Vikings taking because he seems like he'll be one of those guys that just kind of slips through the cracks.

I was saying yes he needs to sit.But he needs a situation were he wouldn't rushed to start I want him to be groomed in.

I've heard multiple reports that Oakland is interested in Geno Smith and were one of the first teams to talk to him at the combine. Looks like he should be there at that point, with Alex Smith being a Chief now. A reach, but could be a possibility.

I'm all about Tavon Austin, but there's no chance he falls all the way to #32 for the Ravens to grab him, though I'm sure either Te'o, Minter, Elam, or Reid would be there. Think I'd prefer either of the safeties at that spot.

Anyone have thoughts on Johnathan Hankins, the NT from OSU? Idk if he would be there for the Ravens, but I like him as a guy that could step in for the bust that was Terrence Cody.

Also, if Barkely performs well at his pro day he could very well be back in as the #2 QB in the class, as he killed it in the interviews. Arm strength I think is the only real knock on him, if you're not putting too much stock in that season he just had at USC. Te'o is another who can help himself at pro day, because as much as people like to harp on the 40 time, it's something that a lot of scouts aren't going to worry too much about, especially if he performs better the second time around.

The bust that IS mount Cody... meaning, unfortunately, he's still here and we've got bigger needs imo. Wouldn't want to carry him and an early round pick when that could've been used to help on the edges, at safety, LB, oline, etc.
