You brought up one player. I brought up one player. Eddie George did fine for himself. AP also seems to be doing fine for himself. Ricky Williams did pretty well. LT did some decent things. Marshawn Lynch is OK.

You're missing the point. Sorry if I didn't clarify this. None of those players sustained diminished production / injury during their collegiate career due to excess workload. Hell, even the Wisconsin staff admitted Ball was at times just flat warn out. The drop off from junior to senior year can't just be attributed to lack of talent. The guy was gassed.
The discussion was about Ball from the very beginning. I didn't bring him up. He's just one example of a back who's taken a beating in his college career.
I'll take Lacy anyday who's had one third the touches.XBOX Series X Gamer Tag: AlsbronComment

I'll take Lacy too.
But I watched McGahee get his leg blown out and AP suffer through nagging injuries and a broken collarbone.
I'm saying the wear and tear theory is exactly that. It hasn't been proven. I've given multiple examples of guys that have suffered injuries or carried heavy workloads in college and went on to have decent if not great NFL careers. You just kind of keep repeating yourself.
I'll also throw out Jerome Bettis and Dickerson. Those guys were workhorses in college. Wisconsin backs have more to do w/ running behind the line they do Ron Dayne approves of this.
I've given you examples of guys in different eras that were either workhorses or had nagging injuries. The theory just doesn't work for me.Last edited by TheShizNo1; 03-07-2013, 09:58 AM.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

I don't think that really helps your point. Especially when you have to take age into consideration w/ some of them.
I just feel it really doesn't matter especially since most backs are no longer being asked to shoulder that workload anymore.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

My "point" all along has been that Ball's production drop-off senior year was due to the excessive workload incurred during his junior season. And that if I were an NFL GM, I'd take the similar and perhaps more skilled player (Lacy) who has about one third the college touches. Since you've said you'd take Lacy as well, what is your point exactly?XBOX Series X Gamer Tag: AlsbronComment

Bills and Bengals also have meetings set up with him. Sounds like he had a superb pro day. Hearing his deep ball looked surprisingly good and he basically completed every pass. And it was nice to hear that he apparently threw a lot of deep balls/deep outs.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse

He's a dink & dunk QB to me. And I don't think he reads defenses too well.Comment

Andy Dalton had better make strides in 2013. Seems like the Bengals may quietly be questioning if he's the guy to get them to that next level.XBOX Series X Gamer Tag: AlsbronComment

Agreed. He's a solid player. But he needs to do more against the elite defenses. He's been good and at times better than good against average stop units, but the good ones always seem to derail him. Also not sold on his downfield playmaking ability.XBOX Series X Gamer Tag: AlsbronComment
