Don't the Saints need help at ILB?

I think you can take Ogletree in the first and get a very decent safety in 2nd. Safeties aren't going to go until late first IMO.

Saints are good at ILB imo, currently have Vilma, Hawthorne, and Lofton. I expect Vilma to either get released or his role reduced and Hawthorne/Lofton to play inside in the new 3-4.

I think i'm in the mind set that if the Saints don't get a 3-4 OLB they should trade back to pick a secondary player as well as the extra pick since they don't have a 2nd rounder.

Not a pro here but Am I right in assuming Atlanta will go for a Pass Rusher after releasing John Abraham and Ray Edwards?
That's not an insult, THAT is just a fact of life.

Never know, they pick pretty low so it could be best available. They need a corner too. I think that's a good guess though, since it seems the draft is full of good pass rushers (and not corners so much).

I see them looking at Banks and Amerson. They could also go tight end with Eifert or Ertz. I really don't see them going pass rusher though; their secondary is too porous to ignore.

Some teams are tracking the "flying 20" times, which are the last 20 yards, because in football situations, the speed once a WR gets to top speed can be more relevant.

For instance, Jerry Rice didn't have good 40 times but his flying 20 times were said to be "off the charts."

Hunt would be a five tech in their 3-4, not an edge rusher. He is strictly a defensive line prospect.

Another question (since you guys really seem to know your stuff): Montee Ball, did he climb back into the first round (or early second) with his combine performance?

Not claiming to be a draft guru but he did not. Lacy probably won't even be a first round pick. Running backs have lost so much value in today's league, especially ones with all the wear and tear that Ball has. Many teams think that they can just plug in a back that will be successful because of the scheme.

Is he a first round talent? I think so. You don't just break the college touchdown record and not have insane ability. I actually really like Ball, played against him in high school.....didn't go well.

I trust no backs from Wisconsin.

The problem with Ball is all the wear and tear on him already. He has a ridiculous number of carries.

That's overrated. Look at Ray Rice.

You can't say a proven trend is "wrong" just because of one player. Look at all the Big 10 plodders who pack on miles and miles in college and don't do crap in the NFL. Where as Eddie Lacy has maybe a third of the wear and tear Ball does. Ball didn't even have to leave Wisconsin for his workload to lessen him. Just look at his senior season compared to his junior year. If you watched any Wisconsin games, it was clear he's taken punishment.
