We know that the teams that will be reaching for QBs will be Jax, AZ, Buff and NYJ.
Geno won't make it past Buffalo at 9. Or at least he shouldn't.
I can't see Jax or AZ picking EJ over Barkley in the early 2nd.
Just their systems IMO. Arians like the Pro style QB which Barkley fits. And Jax would be more of a run heavy, play action pass offense which EJ doesn't fit.
Sleeper team could be OAK in the 2nd.
All I know is I'm going to be super pissed on draft day.Comment

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
And he's a far better passer.
I don't know. I think he has a chance to be successful. He's definitely a late bloomer, and I actually think his ability to read defenses might be the best in this year's draft. And he was definitely a dink and dunk guy last year, but this season, he actually threw it down the field more than any of the other prospects in this year's draft and his completion percentage down the field was better than just about everyone else too.
This was a really good read on how he compares to some of the other QBs in the draft.

I'd say so, he just at times was a little off in his accuracy due to inconsistency in his mechanics. The one thing helping EJ probably is he's most likely giving the best interviews of all the QBs, really smart guy and a leaderSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Sounds like that's a common theme this year. They say the same thing (about interviews) about Nassib and Wilson too.NFL: Bills

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
I don't think they'll be busts because they'll have such low expectations on them. If they're taken in the second or third, and they turn out to be even remotely serviceable starters, they'll have been worth it. Smith is the only one who will probably be a first round pick, so he'll have more expectation, but I don't think he'll bust. If they have a Jake Delhomme-esque career they won't be busts.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
Count me in the Matt Barkley camp. This guy had a pretty outstanding junior season. The USC stigma is a little unfair on him; he's neither Palmer nor Leinart nor Sanchez and didn't even play for the same coaches.
He's a proto pro passer who tided the Trojans over tough times as they dealt with sanctions, and unlike the party boy types Leinart and Sanchez turned out to be, appears by all accounts to be a student of the game.
I think Smith and Manuel being so high up here could be a nod to the success of rookies like Wilson and RG3, but IMO, analysts are trying too hard to see those guys again. They aren't Wilson and RG3, they just aren't.
Holistically, and I know, it's just an opinion, but I think Barkley is the best prospect at QB in this class and worth a solid (but not Top-5) first-round pick. I think teams will try to trade into the bottom of the 1st for him if he's on the board — it wouldn't be worth it to let another team get him on the cheap in the early 2nd. At that point, it's hardly a risky or high-cost investment. The Blazin' Utah Bees! | A Front Office Football MP dynasty

After watching over 250 of his college throws, NFL Films guru Greg Cosell believes USC QB Matt Barkley is a "fourth-round talent" on tape.
Cosell is perhaps the most respected tape watcher in football circles. "Number one, he has average arm strength by NFL standards," Cosell said. "Number two, his feet are not particularly quick, he has slower feet. And three, he's a little shorter." Elaborating on Twitter, Cosell said he believes Barkley could be an NFL starter, but would require an elite supporting cast. His biggest reservations are Barkley's arm strength and athleticism, as Cosell stated Mark Sanchez had a "stronger arm" with "much better movement" in the pocket coming out of USC. With opinions all over the map, it's hard to forecast where Barkley will be drafted. Clearly, though, he'd be a severe reach in the top ten. Mar 5 - 7:28 PM
After a five-game study of USC QB Matt Barkley, ESPN's Merril Hoge believes Barkley is a "project" who deserves to be drafted in the third or fourth round.
NFL Films' Greg Cosell recently called Barkley a "fourth-round talent" on tape. "He's a flat-footed thrower, which I haven't seen (before), quite honestly," said Hoge. "And that really affects his ability to drive the football. And he doesn't have a big arm anyway. He's very sloppy and erratic in the pocket, as well. And that combination is a little disturbing when you're transitioning to the NFL. ... At the line of scrimmage, I didn't see a guy who really understood the protections and all the pressures. Made a lot of mistakes, threw a lot of bad balls. And those type of things would concern me." Mar 7 - 10:32 AMComment

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
Really hoping the Lions can pick up Dee Milliner at 5. If so, the draft will be a huge success.
If he's not available, maybe Joeckel or Fisher if one of them are available.
At worst, trade back and pick up Chance Warmack or Jonathan Cooper.
Depending on our first round pick. I'd like the see a corner or OL in the 2nd round. If we don't draft a corner with one of our top 2 picks, even by reaching a little, we could be in a lot of trouble again.Comment

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
I know this was done before, but what is the one primary site that you guys use for full prospect rankings? I've put my own Mock's together, and obviously everyone is going to be different, but I want to put one together using a top sites rankings so that I actually have something to point at instead of having to answer "Why is 'X' here, he would be gone" or "he's not worth drafting that high" with "Because it's my opinion that he's going to drop in the Draft" or "rise in the Draft because yada yada".
Because, you know..
People don't like opinions online, they want something they can point to and say "Oh, that's why he has him there".
I always bounce around from Walters, ESPN, CBS.. obviously, all of them are different. I rarely listen to ESPN or CBS's prospect rankings because one of them always seems so far off, but you really don't know which one is because they're both so different (IE. Sylvester being a 1st round pick on ESPN, 3rd round pick on CBS)
TL;DR?
What site do you feel is the best prospect ranking site?--
