Maybe, but the way NIL works now he's not taking as big a hit. Sure, he's deferring his potential 2nd contract by a year but he might legitimately consider his first contract situation significant enough to take that hit. He's not living on ramen noodles at USC.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Nobody said he was struggling lol.

I’m saying the threat sounds good to say out loud but in reality, he’s not going to do it. Players love to play the “I’ll sit out/wont go there” card and more times than not, it rarely works in their favor. He doesn’t have it in him to do it anyway.

Ummm, John Elway and Eli Manning both pulled this stunt previously.

It is not unprecedented and seeing how bad Chicago is - not that Washington is much better - I could understand pulling your trump card.

“MORE TIMES THAN NOT” J_Posse goodness [emoji23]Never once said it has never happened.

And the fact that it’s only happened TWICE in like 40 years is my point that’s it’s all talk.

Funny thing about this is that it was rumor that Cowherd threw out and folks decided to run with it for whatever reason lol. People do not like doing their own research on anything for whatever reason. I see why folks are so gullible nowadays [emoji23]

Need to be done with his cap space and performance. Harvin and Chucks also gone. Harvin seems like a good dude but couldn't punt.

This is exactly the same way I feel about Pickett, with rumors swirling around the Steelers looking at Tannehill (Smith connection) and Fields (don't like this one) if Tomlin is to be believed as far as wanting QB competition for Pickett, then which ever way they decide to go, (draft, free agency) Pickett needs to be on a VERY short leash...4-5 games at best.

The Steelers also need to add Cole, the worst center in the NFL to this list as well as Levi Wallace, dude is constantly getting burned and can't tackle....but I had read they were wanting to bring him back...

People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

Was it even really a rumor? People ran with it like it was but I took it as Cowherd throwing out how he'd feel in the situation and then trying to fill in the blanks on why Caleb would agree with him in his imaginary scenario.

He was on the radio the following day and said he thinks Caleb has concerns about Chicago but doesn’t think he’d force his way out because he doesn’t want to be portrayed as a bad guy but people are really running with the he’s forcing his way out angle.

I’m biased as a Bears fan but I’d much rather go to Chicago than the team that trades away a bunch of assets to get the #1 pick and end up in a Bryce Young situation

Ah. I heard he backtracked on it but I don’t usually listen to him so I didn’t go and find what he said to try and clean it up since I thought it was just his opinion to begin with.

And yeah, Bears are a good spot for a #1 pick. Still a top 10 draft pick of their own so they’re not great, but they have more to work with than a team picking first usually does. Now imagine if they can use some of that cap space to sign OL who can actually block or draft a second receiver who can catch? Wow

Yeah it was the next day he backtracked on it:

There have been several question marks weighing over USC quarterback Caleb Williams’ head this offseason, outside of figuring out whether or not he’s a generational talent. Would he rather remain at USC for another year? How reliable of a teammate is he? And, most importantly for Bears fans, would he be willing to play in Chicago? Rumors have swirled about...

I got Daniel's going #2, and a team moving up to #3 to snag Harrison Jr. Either the Bears, or Chargers.

Don't hesitate to think someone wouldn't move up that's already got a QB in the top 10 to get that QB some help.
