One of these days, we’re going to need to have an honest conversation about Big Mike and the double standard(?)when it comes to him and other coaches, lol.

Same reason why Philly fired Reid or why NE let Belichick go despite being probably the GOAT Coach. Or Seattle letting go of Pete Carroll.
It’s funny because no one calls McCarthy a HOF Coach but the way the narrative is written on him, you’d thought he lucked his way into a good year every other year. Meanwhile, guys like Tomlin and Payton get talked up as Coaching Greats as if they don’t have the same accomplishments at McCarthy.
All I’m saying is the double standard around him is funny and the fact that people know there’s one and still add fuel to it let’s me know that there are still some obtuse/not bright people out here lol
(But I also know it’s because he coaches Dallas and everything there is gassed up x1000. Same how it is when you coach the Lakers or Yankees)#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
A few other things that stood out to me were:
There will be competition at QB
The hope is that Rudolph returns
Preference is to find an OC with NFL play calling experience

Re: 2024 Offseason Thread
"Bill Belichick completes second interview with Atlanta"
This is such a weird match for me. On BB's side, you are walking into a team without a QB and is a year or two away from having some salary cap limitations with some of the high profile first round skill position guys they have brought in. Maybe he the longer term issues won't bother him at his age, but QB isn't going to be fixed immediately.
From Atlanta's side it's even weirder. You're bringing in a guy who is already 71 years old on a team that needs a QB and hasn't had a winning season since 2017. It also has non-qb roster issues that need to be addressed in the very near future after your front office has spent so much draft capital on offensive skill position players over the last few years. There also isn't some obvious young head coach in waiting from Belichick's previous staff that you would look to hand the reigns off to when Bill is done in a couple of years.
The only sense that I can make out of this is that Atlanta wants someone to show them how to make their football operations not look like a joke.
Interestingly, Belichick would be the first person with previous HC experience in the NFL to be hired as the HC of the Falcons since Arthur Blank bought the team 22 years ago.Comment
