Ahh Damn. Panthers are so thin at T after all the injuries in preseason and now Otah. Don't expect Otah back next season. I remember seeing a stat that he'd only played something like 16 out of 40 games since he's been drafted. This team has the injury bug so bad it's depressing. Davis (THREE straight ACL tear), Beason (TWO straight ACL tears) and now Otah looks like he's finally come to the end in Carolina.

Terrible news. There's a major difference when he's in the game than when he's not. I don't see him or Davis back next year due to injury issues. It looks like the Panthers are headed for another high draft pick in April, hopefully they can pick up Kalil from USC to pair with his brother and solidify the RT position.

DEFENSE! Either DT or LB would be my top priority followed by WR and OL depth.

While I agree that defense should be the top priority, I think the team has enough holes where they should just take the best available player. It looks like the Panthers will have a top 7 and possible a top 5 pick, so they need to get a starter out of that pick. The draft looks like it will be very, very good in the top 30 or so picks (depending on how many underclassmen declare) so I wouldn't be against the Panthers trading out of the top 10 like Cleveland did with the Falcons and getting a couple of late 1st rounders and some extra 2nd, 3rd, and/or 4th round picks.

Carolina just put the two rookie draft picks from last year @ DT on the IR for the season. The team is down to two healthy bodies there and just signed a couple of practice squad guys. I'd say CAR is gonna do whatever it takes to get help there in the draft, whether that's trading down or out of the 1st round or whatever.

There is a serious problem on the interior line. It must be addressed. Ron Edwards should be back next season from the IR, but that's it for veteran quality depth...

I'd love to see Carolina go draft a guy like WR Justin Blackmon but the best course is probably to stockpile picks and try to add depth at several positions.

Is anyone else somewhat annoyed by all of the band-wagoners of late? I realize one of the reasons of drafting Cam was based on garnering new interest and thus new fans, however; I feel like there is also a lot of negative bandwagon attention. I don't know, maybe it's petty; I was a bandwagon fan as well, albeit I jumped on midway in '04, had no prior interest in the NFL and only minorly had the previous Superbowl in my head. Maybe I'm being remiss when I suppose that isn't the same thing as jumping on a team just as they get a whole new regime and look set-up for the future.

But, meh.

The Panthers traded Jeff Otah to the Jets for a draft pick, and traded a 7th round pick to the Raiders for Louis Murphy. They also traded Mike Goodson to the Raiders for OT Bruce Campbell back in March.

I just saw all of this today. I know Otah has some injury history the last couple of years, but when he was healthy, many "experts" thought he was one of the best tackles in football. I guess we'll see how this works out.

I knew nothing about pro football until I bought madden 07 and 11 for the wii and realized that the panthers and the NFL existed, I jumped on with the home team and never looked back, this was in august of 2010. Now that we got cam and we're good, alas the cam wagoners come a steamrolling In with the I've been a fan my whole life stories. Ugh

I guess I'm a bandwagon fan because I started cheering for the Panthers last year for one reason, Cam Newton. As a big Auburn fan I watched him win the BCS there, so I just continued on with him. Watched all the games last year, plan to do it again this year, even attended my first ever NFL game last year to see him play. I really did get into the games last year though, Smith was just awesome to watch. Hoping for a playoff push this year!
