Honestly, I wasn't keen on how the first half ended, because it was more us shooting ourselves in the foot.
The second half, however, was a display of what can happen when our defense gets a lead. I don't think Tracy Porter should be left in single coverage, however. He needs help over the top.
Bottom line, though, is that the Raiders are a terrible team and anything other than a dominating win would've been troublesome. The Raiders are craptacular.
See ya, Moreno. And JD Walton won't be missed.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Great win! So nice to be able to sit back and enjoy a Broncos game in the 4th quarter for a change. I don't think my heart could take another year of late game comebacks. Hillman gave us a glimpse of his speed and Koppen will step right in for JD. I think that Fox and McCoy finally figured out that Manning needs to run a no-huddle offense in order to be successful. The receivers also made some great catches. Hopefully, Denver can keep this momentum going into Foxborough this week.
Go Broncos!Comment

Everybody is kind of quiet...just waiting around to see what happens on Sunday, hoping that what we saw last Sunday is in line with what the Broncos are becoming?
I see the Broncos as going into Foxborough with house money. Try to steal one if you can, but it's going to be a tough task.Comment

I'm kinda nervous for this game. Denver looks to be the serious underdog, but the 7 point spread seems a little high.Football: Denver Broncos

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I think the reason for the silence is because nobody knows what to think about this game. Both teams have been inconsistent and whichever team comes out and plays like they did last week will win. Agreed...Denver needs to steal this game, but I don't have any expectations.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
I think this will be another big test for Denver's linebackers (as is almost every game). We all know how the last game against the Patriots went, but it's hard to discredit the fact that Gronk and Hernandex combined for almost 200 yards receiving and 4 TD's. Hopefully with an offense that can stay on the field and keep Brady off the field will help.
I think if they can keep New Englands TE's in check as much as possible Denver has a good chance to win. Champ will keep Lloyd locked down and I believe Denver will play tough against the run.Comment

Re: Official Denver Broncos Thread
Honestly, this is one of those games that just about everyone looks at and says "Patriots, easy." So, it's hard for me to get nervous about it. It's more that I'll be watching this game thinking "okay, where are we, at this point?" Because if any team can reveal weakness, it'll be the Patriots.
The joy of this game is that it's early in the season. A game like Atlanta and New England can really shine a light on your problem areas. Having time (and a coming bye week after the SD game) to fix those issues could be huge. Imagine playing teams all year that couldn't exploit you (like the Raiders). Then suddenly, you get to the playoffs and run into the Patriots. Whoops.
This game can really help our team prove some things. Against Atlanta, we had a DB on Tony Gonzalez, and it was largely effective. I expect to see the same on Sunday. There is NO way you can ask our linebackers to cover those tight ends. Not even a 70% Gronk, you have to play them like receivers.
As a coach and player, I've always said that losing to the best is how you learn. So if we win, then chalk up another W. If we lose, the Broncos are going to learn a lot and be able to take that with them throughout the season. Imagine getting battle-hardened against the Patriots now, then taking that against KC (x2), the Raiders, Cleveland, Cinncy, and Tampa Bay. And we still have Baltimore late to remind the Broncos what a tough team is like, so that game can serve as a barometer for a playoff push. I like where this game puts us, regardless of the outcome. Outside of crucial injuries, this game can only be a positive.Last edited by Broncos86; 10-05-2012, 09:59 PM.Comment
