    Did you watch the game?

Ben was converting 3rd and longs (10+ yards) with ease. That, regardless of what week it is, is a major issue.

SMH. I'm saying, it's week 1 with a new defensive coordinator. Give them time to sort it out before you start flipping out. Actually give them a chance to fix it.

Week 1, we just beat the Steelers on Sunday night, and the focus is negativity. Blah.

I agree. I want to be excited about the possibility that this team can be great this year, but the fact that all I could do was shake my head in disbelief at some of the defensive schemes they rolled out there was pathetic. Both Del Rio and Fox are defensive coaches and yet they couldn't figure out early on that rushing 3 wasn't getting it done.

New defensive coordinator or not, on passing downs (especially 3rd and long!) you bring pressure! You shorten the window of time for the receivers to get down the field to get the yardage needed to pick up the first down by pressuring the quarterback. That isn't rocket science and that isn't anything that anybody needs to get comfortable with a new defensive coordinator to figure out.

We've seen this all before...the defense needs to get nasty. Go make plays, don't let the plays come to you. Pressuring the quarterback opens all sorts avenues to change the tide of the game.

I don't think anyone is being negative...just expressing VALID concerns. This is nothing new. Blame it on another new D-coordinator if you want, but I think that's silly. MOST defenses lick their chops at a chance to get a team in a known passing situation. Denver does it, and all too often they back off. I want to see them quit playing scared. Everyone knows that pressuring the QB is a key factor in being successful.

Ask an elite QB how they feel about facing a three man rush on third down. Ask a DB how long he feels he can cover an NFL receiver. A three man rush is a terrible idea, and in it's best form is nothing better than a prevent defense. It can be semi effective if you can generate somewhat of a pass rush with three. Denver can't. They can't do it with four. Not yet...although I believe Wolfe will get them there.

The Steelers got nearly half of their yards on third down, and they converted an alarming number of third downs in the process. I expected Denver to beat the Steelers, and they did. I am thrilled about a lot of things, and I couldn't be happier with what I saw out of Manning. I don't want to see them waste this.

Yes...it's only been one game. Rushing three on 3rd and 12 isn't getting it done. They need to get nasty and start stepping on their opponent's throat when given the opportunity to do so.

          Start in Atlanta.

            Ok...moving on to week 2:
Who thinks Denver gets a win in Atlanta? (Raise your hand)

            Offense- Atlanta by a nose
            Defense- Denver by a nose
            Special Teams- Denver

Not sure if that translates into a win...

I think it will be a high scoring game for both teams but ultimately Denver comes out on top.

Denver's secondary is going to be tested...

                  Denver 37
                  Atlanta 34

As long as Denver doesn't rush three and.....just kidding.

This game worries me a bit, but I feel so much better about this than I would without Peyton behind center. It's nice to know that if this game turns into a shoot-out, Denver can still win this.

I like the confidence you guys have, but why do you think they'll pull this out? Atlanta's secondary definitely took a hit with Grimes out for the season. People point to Ty Warren going down for Denver. Yes, that hurts and they lack of depth is definitely a concern, but how can you miss something you never really had?

I see Atlanta working the TE's hard since Denver's weakest link on D is probably LB, and they don't have a LB who is good in coverage. I also see them spreading Denver out and banging Turner. Denver's run defense looked improved against Pittsburgh.

It will be interesting to see if Denver comes out in the no-huddle right away. I hope so, but how effective will it be in the dome where noise is obviously going to be a factor? Is Peyton and the offensive on the same page well enough to handle a hostile environment?

I think this is a good point. If Atlanta can have success getting Denver in a nickel pacakge a lot then I think you will see a lot of Turner.

Hopefully Denver can go up by 10-14 points and get Atlanta into a more one-sided offense.

I think this is going to be a tough tough game. But, Atlanta isn't using the running game like they used to. They're moving away from it and putting more on Ryan. That bodes well for us, because I think Manning vs. Atlanta defense fares better than Ryan vs. our defense. If there is a team our defense can blitz, this will be the team. And Matt Ryan won't handle it as well.

Against the Chiefs, Turner carried the ball just eleven times in a blow out.

I see this game as a track meet as both teams will most likely run the no-huddle offense. The team that scores TDs instead of settling for FGs will win. It may all come down to which team has the ball last, and/or 1 big special teams play.

The thing that Atlanta's offense has that Denver doesn't is a mobile QB... even more so than Big Ben. This game will be a serious test for both defenses. However, Atlanta lost their best defensive player for the year at CB, Grimes. That will defintiely give the Broncos an advantage. I see the loss of Grimes as a bigger detriment for Atlanta than Denver's loss of Warren. Denver never really had Warren in the mix, and he never was 100%.

We will learn a lot about Denver with this game, and I see a win catapulting this team to the head of the AFC. I agree with Skeeter that it will be a 3 point game in Denver's favor. It also is nice to know that Denver is 4-1 vs Atlanta in recent years, but now have a "real" QB.

Everybody is expecting a track meet, and I can definitely see that. It wouldn't surprise me if Fox tries to slow it down a little bit. Track meets aren't in his coaching DNA. Then again, Fox has also never had a guy like Manning.

How many of you watched Thursday's game with Cutler's antics both on and off the field? Cutler is an amazing talent, but his ego and personality will always get in that guy's way. I used to defend him as a Bronco, but I am not ashamed to say I root for him to fail now. I love watching that guy throw picks, melt down, and yell at his teammates. I've never once heard that guy take responsibility for anything.

I think I am finally completely over the whole Cutler fiasco. It still boggles my mind that all that went down the way it did. Having lost a guy like Cutler only to have him replaced by Orton and subsequently Tebow. The funny thing is: we most likely would have never have ended up with Manning if things would have went another way.

I agree. I used to hate the way Rivers was towards Cutler in the Charger games, but Cutler is way worse than Rivers ever was
