Hard to say. Personally... I hope not, but there are just too many things up in the air right now. Is he going to get additional games added to his six game suspension? If so, how many? Denver may be in a position of needing a fresh LB late in the season, and if he comes back and really contributes, I think he'll be around again next year.

Depends, really. I'm sure Baltimore is pretty happy it didn't just ditch Ray Lewis after his issues with the law.

One hopes that DJ Williams learns fast from this experience. It could very well turn him into a more stalwart player and focus him. It could just be an indication of issues to come.

I think DJ will have to win back his starting role, once his suspension is over. If he can do that, and prove that he's still playing at a quality level, then I think the Broncos will be willing to give Williams a last straw chance to prove that he has learned from these past events. Any issues that crop up from here on out should send Williams packing next year. At this point, Williams isn't costing the team much money due to the suspension, so keeping him around right now isn't much of an impact.

Understand your point but despite the usual sloppy reporting, Ray Lewis' situation wasn't anything close to this... and Ray Lewis himself (being the person that he is) made it very easy for that to be clear even before the facts were made clear.

DJ will be on a short leash here on out. And if he gets a few more games tacked onto his already 6 game suspension, then that leash gets even shorter. He needs to contribute upon his return and keep his nose clean, otherwise I see Denver ridding itself of a cancer.

True. For the Broncos, Williams is a talent that is worth trying to "get right." Someone like Perrish Cox was not.

I can't believe I am saying this...but I am glad Moreno is listed as the #2 back to start the season. Catching balls out of the backfield, I think he could be a real weapon for Manning. HOPEFULLY he can stay healthy and actually do something this season.

As long as he stays healthy and I a good change of pace....oh and holds on to the ball I will be happy with it.

Agreed. And really, his health is the only reason Hillman was drafted to begin with. If Moreno stays healthy, he could be a dangerous threat.

My one major beef with his running style has been that he tries to make too many cuts before hitting a hole. He wasted so much time and energy just making those cuts that he allowed linebackers to close things down. This pre-season, he seemed to do a much better job of just making his one read and hitting the hole. I was also impressed with the strength and determination he showed. He was throwing guys off of him with one arm on various runs. Doing that shows strength in his knee.

There is a good chance he will be re-signed by the Broncos on Tuesday.

Correct the they don't want to be stuck with guaranteed contract. Anyone on final roster at 4:30 pm Saturday (I think it's 4:30) are guaranteed their full contact.

Great way to open the season. Big Ben is tough to sack, any other QB likely goes down several times and kills those drives.

All in all, the team adjusted well. Manning ripped apart the Steelers.

Denver officially became my "second team" when they signed our QB Peyton Manning. I loved every minute of that win today. Look after the guy and treat him well Denver fans

I don't know about the any other QB goes down. Through the first three quarters on 3rd down I don't believe Ben got touched.

As I said before with Peyton if he can get early scores and let Von and Dumervil pin their ears back ( a la Mathis and Freeney) we will be better on 3rd down.

Double moves against our linebackers hurt both on 3rd downs and in the red zone.
