If Cooley was at all 100% this season I wouldn't have a problem deciding what to do with him, but I don't remember the last game he appeared to be 100% so its hard to judge. I did like seeing him running routes from the full-back spot since that's where he made his break-out originally.

It just doesn't feel like the offense knows what kind of gameplan it wants to run to me. It seeks like every week they'll try something different, but won't come back to it.

Well, this season is over. Our new starting TE....Logan Paulsen. Davis and Sliverback have been suspended 4 games for a second substance abuse violation. Awesome isn't it. Top 7 pick here we come. Just put Beck back at QB and let the aged vets rest up for next season. Lets see what the kids can do.

Edit: After reading this, I'm even more pissed at these guys. Idiots.

      1. Williams and Davis were already in the league's drug program because of violations in previous years. This is Williams' second year in the NFL and Davis' fourth.

      2. Williams and Davis not only tested positive during the approximately 30-day "grace period" the league and the union negotiated to immediately follow the end of the lockout, but have tested positive more than once since the end of that grace period for recreational -- i.e., not performance-enhancing -- drugs.

      3. The nine other players who tested positive during the grace period will not face punishment for those violations, meaning Williams and Davis could have gotten off scott-free after their first positive drug tests of this season, but decided instead to keep doing drugs.
This basically means, that Davis and Williams will probably miss an entire season in the very near future. Which could impact Washington resigning Davis knowing that one more failed test will cost him a full season.

I know it won't happen but I wish they would start suspending for 1 year on first offenses. Cause these guys get a great deal of money and should act like professionals.

If I test positive for drugs at work I'm fired.

What is the penalty for first time offenders?

I honestly do not know I would imagine 1 or 2 games. But while trying to find it I came across this excerpt from a website called Huliq:

For some, a team that gets along and treats each other like family have little to do with whether that team is capable of winning or not. But in Washington's case, any and every idea to motivate a team for the win is necessary. And that includes the necessary dismantling of the team's young "I-men" into "We-men."
The Skins have some ideas. Peyton Manning's coming in next year. But the team has, in many ways, been through this before. Donovan McNabb tried, with little success, to replace Jason Campbell who, at the very least, kept the Skins relevant. A fading star has not, in the past, been a lifeline for the Redskins.

First I have heard of Peyton Manning idea.

                    Peyton Manning coming in?

That makes it seem like all they're getting is 4 games suspended, stating that "Williams and Davis are considered repeat offenders, according to the sources, and would have faced one-year bans under normal circumstances."

I believe they were caught during lockout and therefore not punished. So first offense is probably 4 games.

And yea first I have seen about Peyton. Probably nothing to it considering that is a site I have never heard of.

I agree with you in principle. But like it or not the rules are different for the top 1%. I bet that if you were in the top 1% of your career field you would get to play by different rules.

I still am beyond pissed at both of them. Seriously Davis has done serious damage to his next contract. Williams has another 3 years in DC so there is a very good chance he is gonna miss a year before that contract expires.

They were both repeat offenders. The other 9 players that tested positive were dropped because it was their first offense.

Not only were they repeat offenders this game after they both popped positive during the 30 day grace period the NFL and NFLPA agreed to after the lock-out. Meaning they should be gone for a year, but since the one test didn't count they are getting 4 games, next time one year no questions asked. Which makes Davis a risky FA going forward and all but assured that unless he smartens up Williams is almost bound to get caught again.

Depends on your job. And like Rob said, it also depends on your status. I don't think that applies in this case though.

                                Re: Washington Redskins Official Thread

I know it's useless to assume, but Dan Graziano wrote a blog. If the season ended today, the skins would have the #5 pick in the draft, it gets interesting from there:

                                1. Indy
                                2. St. Louis
                                3. Minnesota
                                4. Jacksonville
                                5. Washington

So here is the funny thing. IF the Colts pass on Luck, obviously the phone for those other teams will be ringing off the hook, since each of those teams has their "franchise" QB. But there is a chance the skins could be in line for Luck if things played out perfectly in a skins fan dream world.
