I guess it makes sense, but I still hate to see him go. When he was healthy he was fun to watch.

Listening to the Lavar and Dukes show. They're saying there is a possibility he can be back.

I'm sad to see Cooley go. Cooley has been a Redskin for 8 years, and he's just one of those guys that you get used to seeing out there, most games, in a Redskins jersey. I can see the reasoning though. He was injured a lot last year and would be Fred Davis' backup this year. I hope Cooley can find another starting job.

Sucks that Cooley is gone, but he was the longest tenured skin. From the Gubbs V2.0 era and hadn't played a full season since Shanny took over. He was making starter money while being the #2 TE. Would love for them to bring him back at a salary commiserate with where he is in his career.

Give me Gano over Loldiff any day FWIW.

He only chokes in Championship games do y'all are safe. .

On a serious note not a fan of that pick up at all. Just don't understand the move so late in preseason. I know Billy wasn't available til now but still wouldn't be making moves like the two days before final preseason game. Only good thing about Cundiff is he makes the Special Teams coaches job easy for kick off. Not much to practice for Touchbacks.

As for the Cooley news I can really see him ending up in Dallas. With Jason Whitten nursing the spleen injury they have to be at least looking at Cooley. Only thing with Dallas is I believe his mother is battling cancer and if she is local to the DC area he may not want to go that far away.

Cooley would have to eat a lot of crow to go to Dallas and I would hate to see it personally.

I added to my post after yours with his mother battling cancer it probably depends on her location. And honestly he is a great character guy and may either call it quits or take a year off to help her.

I really think Cooley should take the year off..and come back next year...just for the sake of his mother...

but football wise, think he'll end up in Oakland, and I doubt he'll end up in Dallas, Cooley hates Romo for one thing,, so I don't know

Cooley has been in the area since Day 1 so it's safe to say he knows how much Redskin Fans truly hate Dallas. I mean legitimate hate BTW.

I know "Money Talks" in the end, but I'll just say he'd a bold man if he signed with Dallas, especially considering how much he was LOVED here.

I was just talking a need for a TE and Dallas does. But I agree it's rare you see a long time Redskin or Cowboy jumping ship to the other side.

The most messed up thing is Cooley is the only Nike Elite jersey you can get on NFL.com for $275 all the others you have to special order and pay $299 for.

Guess Nike didn't check with the coaching staff before that decision but honestly if he does retire or take year off that would still be a great jersey to have.
I mean he is loved around the DC area and if he doesn't go somewhere else would be a nice jersey to have. Very few jerseys you buy now are with the same team for a full career.
