Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I don't think you killed it, I just think the application works, there aren't that many people using it anyway, and anyone who needs it has been using it flawlessly for about a year. I think it's just a good program and people don't have that many questions or they're busy playing the seasons they started because of snowdrift's great work.Comment

Trust me, if any element of editing 2K8 were to improve his editor, @snowdrift has already thought about it and it's either too much work or not doable.Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Around last year on a whim I decided to see if I could make a 2003-04 season roster for 2K8 using Snowdrift's editor.
Surprisingly, many players active in 2003-04 are free agents in NHL 2K8 by default. there are few players that would need to be created for the project. I still have the files and I might return to it. I made transactions for 5 teams.Fandom:

Bug Report: Copying/pasting attributes and using the global attribute editor is broken/deletes players
For kicks, I wanted to make a roster with all players having 0 OVR, well. upon setting Garnet Exelby to all 0's and attempting to use his zeroed out attributes as a base to copy from (didn't realize global attribute editing was an option). it not only doesn't paste the attributes but deleted Exelby as a player outright.
EDIT: This is much worse than I thought. using the global attribute editor deletes EVERYBODY.
EDIT2: Okay, so, global attributes work and are seen in-game. but it makes the editor not see any players anymore (what I mistook for deleting). Also, Bug Report #2: You can't globally adjust a goalie's leadership attribute as it's not even in the attributes drop down menu.Last edited by WWEDX2007; 04-01-2019, 10:58 AM.Fandom:

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
The editor thinks a player is uninitialized when his overall rating is zero. Easy fix: go to the Options menu and check "Display uninitialized players". You'll instantly see the hidden players.
Not sure I understand about the copy/paste, is it still broken for you?Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
That is a good solution, I can see everyone now. and I imagine players with copied/pasted attributes being uninitialized too.Fandom:

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I recently found out why balancing the salaries with the editor is an absolute must: For fun, I wanted to try and rebuild the 2006-07 Blue Jackets (the worst team on NHL 2K8's default rosters) I signed one player from free agency: Teemu Selanne. and I was sent so far into the salary cap basement I could see boxes, pipes and mold.
Seriously, the Cap is screwed in the game by default. Thanks once again for your amazing work Snowdrift.Fandom:

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Is there an NHL 2k8 roster available for the actual 07-08 season that improves on the default? All the rosters I find update NHL 2K8 to current, but im not looking for that. I want to play it in the year intended! ThanksComment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
If you want to play it in the year intended, go back through the forum until you get to about November of 2007. Then you have to take your chances with someone still having the file hosted. Otherwise you need to spend some time online digging around in other forums or old sites that may or may not have a roster still hosted somewhere. As long as the person posted it here on the site, it should still be active. But honestly, it's been over 10 years, unless you are extremely meticulous about 4th lines and bench players being 100% accurate, the default roster is good enough for today.Comment
