Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I think its intended that the editor auto removes player pictures, however I've found if you start a career mode then edit the save file it doesn't lose pictures or career stats. Probably worth someone one day with more knowledge updating the editor. I have an app dev working on a new NHL View style editor I will see if he can do anything with 2k/Showdrift editor one day. As long as Showdrift is content of course I don't want to steal his hardwork without permission. My app guys found lots of stuff in my new NHL View that Arkem the original maker of NHL View didn't.https://discord.gg/BeCHnu86 Project 20s 2K10 MODComment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I've been looking at trying to mod 2K8 for a while now so it was nice to find something like this to get me started. Am I able to change the names and background information of players and import my own player portraits? Also, has anyone found out how to edit the textures yet?Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Hi! Been really enjoying franchise mode on 2k8 for PS3. Got hit with a freeze on the 24th of Nov, trying to work out what the cause is. I used Snodrift, tried the fixes and wasn't able to save it.
I'm wanting to run a co-op franchise with parsec, but a bit worried it might keep freezing. I have a OneDrive link to the save file, in case anyone wants to try and help me do detective work! (I can't post it, but I think I can DM it? Still new here!)
Are there any things I can do to avoid freezes in franchise? Read some stuff about trade finder being a bit volatile, but with the 2k forums not existing anymore/waybackmachine not having a great archive, it's hard to know what's safe.
Cheers!Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I can usually sim years without issues in 2K8 (not always). Whose rosters are you using? What edits (if any) did you make?
I recall injuries being problematic for the CPU, and I think making roster moves (dress, scratch, minors, etc.) in the Edit Lines menu could cause problems (editing your lines is fine). Moving historic and national players to NHL teams will 100% break the game.Comment

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
I hope so! Because editing that game’s rosters is a pain. If he DOES make one for 2K9, I hope it supports the Wii as well, because the PS3 and Xbox 360 emulators available don’t really have texture dumping.

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
Yes. Because the enviroment and presentation is better. More similar to 2K10. The menus i think they're the best of all series 2K. And for last they have real players on the Rosters as Kane, Toews, Bergeron, Perron, Giroux and others.
And the most important, Would be awesome a editor for resolve the problem of limited players editing.Comment

Plus, I had an idea for the Wii version that requires player editing, which as you said, is limited.

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)
EDITOR UPDATED TO VERSION 0.19 (Mar 26, 2023)
- Player photos are no longer automatically removed. They can still be removed manually (Batch > Remove Player Photos).
- Option to leave historic, national and all-star teams intact when executing "Empty All Rosters".
- Action that adds Veteran status to players based on age.
- Franchise-mode action that detects good prospects and gives them NHL contracts (the computer has a habit of not signing its best draft picks).
- Option to skip the active team when executing "Retirement Status" and "Re-assign salaries".
