Wow, looking through the last file fiddy put up, you guys are doing a great job on these. (aside from the player ratings, but I guess you're still working on those.) In quickly running through it one thing I noticed is Ryan Johnson is on the Canucks roster, although he is a free agent IRL. Glad to see that Tyler Ennis on Buffalo is a playmaker with reasonable (albeit maybe a tad low) ratings, since most roster files I've downloaded have him as a power forward with poor speed. Jon Matsumoto on the Canes has 90 spd and acc, but most scouting reports i've read on him say that skating is his weak point, while his work ethic, playmaking, and hockey smarts are his best assets.
Anyways, since you're still working on the ratings I'll wait before critiquing your brilliant effort any further. Keep up the good work!

this is the stiff that helps us out big time. so many players, some guys get over looked by mistake..

ps TS, NYRFan'88 is sending me a spreadsheet with 800 plus player ratings on it. every attribute updated for each of the players. i didnt know he had one, he sent me a PM..

he is gonna send it to me here sometime today, i will then forward it to you so you can take a look at it. maybe compare your changes to his etc. i know you like his work with the rosters. i'll post here when i have it in my hands. PM me your email addy, bc i dont think i have it anymore.

I made a suggestion to Scottdau yesterday about creating a draft class for to use in franchise at the end of the season.

It would be great to be able to draft a Landeskog, Nugent-Hopkins, Couturier or Larsson, It just adds so much to the game. Off course you would be drafting them a year earlier and they would be a year older but it would still be a great addition.

I am not posting expecting you guys to add this to your project so please don't think that i am just trying to get a feel as to whether you guys think it would be a good idea. I thought about posting a thread here or on 2khockey.net to see feedback but i just decided to post in here first.

Its not something i could undertake myself for various reasons, living in Scotland i dont get to see prospects play so i have next to no information about them, i dont know what type of players they are or what their strengths and weaknesses are so its something a prospect buff would have to maybe get in on and help with ratings while others done the editing which i'd be more than happy to help with.

I am under no illusions that it would be a big job but the end result would be worth it. I thought doing maybe just the first round or even rounds one and two if someone who had outstanding prospect knowledge got in on this.

I have looked into some sites to get a little information but i am sure there are better sites available. There is also the possibilty of being able to try and use EA's ratings as a template.

Tell me what you think guys and whether it may be worth posting on 2khockey.net. Just a thought if a template was drawn up on a spreadsheet you could use that and just put the info on that so PS3 users and wii users would benefit also.

Back to Fiddy, updated roster file on 2Kshare with draft of roster edits under the file name Test 5678....

I like the idea of adding prospects- but with roster mgmt so limited it might be something we expand on 2K8....I already have a few prospects on my 2K8 file posted...I didn't replicate the AHL...
I mostly have their top prospects that are expected to make the NHL this year or the next...I'm a little hesitant creating too many prospects and then they never play a game in the NHL

cool.. im snagging the file now. will look at it after we get back from lunch today.

i'll check over the AHL goalie equipment, some lines, and jersey numbers again. also make a few roster moves from the past few days...

after that, i can officially post version 1 of these rosters.

we then can start getting feedback from you guys on what we can make better etc. Scott can even take that and make the equipment edits etc. just let us know after i post version 1 Scott..

as for the prospects, yeah, thats a lot and would be great. im not sure how that works, i will look at it. but not sure if i want to take the time to do that, bc thats something i doubt i would ever use. simply bc im a quick play type of guy with this game. as well as playoff mode etc..

cant wait to check the file out when i get back.

There is an option draft class if you go to manage roster, there you will find draft class if you go to it there is a whole draft class of players who would need edited.

All that happens at the end of the season is that before the draft it asks if you want to use/load a draft class its pretty easy.

Let me know what version is the good one. And I will look and see what I can do with the masks. Unless someone thinks they can do better. So just let me know Fiddy. Mask will only take a day. And I already started doing them. So it wl be easy because I wrote down all the changes and how to change them.

hey Scott, im gonna take a look at it here before the Pens game. ill let ya know here when its good to snag the test file. we wont release an official version until you do the helemts etc. IMO, i would just focus on the NHL/AHL goalie helmets. (if you want to do the AHL). we then can jagg with sticks and skates etc after the intial release.

keep eyes on the thread here, ill let ya now by 11pm est..

Do the NHL goalies, that's good enough for now. When your done post the file back up on 2kshare under another test name so to speak. I then will look at the AHL goalies and update the line combos from past few days.

Ps. Please don't make any lineup changes at all. The exception, your Sharks lol. Reason being I have a solid system working for me making editing lines etc really simple.

File all yours. Post here when you are done.

I will try to finish tomorrow. Some look pretty good if I do say so myself. But others are tough, because the designs we just don't have. So I try to match colors as much as possible, I will post them on Sunday. My laptop is acting up, if I can get it back on tomorrow like I couldn't today (After a hour) I will let you know and some one else will have to tackle on this project. The start button on my Dell is acting up!


Will my laptop is dead again. So I am going to have to pass on this project bro. I saw at 2khockey someone offered to fix the helmets. Sorry Fiddy. Good luck with these the rosters, they are very sweet by the way.
