It's gonna be a crazy night of hockey.

DrJones, have you prescribed yourself some Xanax yet?

I only just saw the game recap and they showed it real quick, but I replayed it. Hardly looked like a penalty, the LA Kings player is ducking and gets kind of flattened against the boards.
charging was the call, plus i could be wrong here, but maybe left his feet a bit? i couldnt believe they called a major in that situation myself!!

This, IMO, is/was the turning point of the series:

I'm hoping for Vancouver to pull this out, as crazy as it would be to see the collapse completed.

If he did leave his feet, it wasn't blatant at all. I think the ref just messed it up because the Kings player was in a ducking position and it created the illusion that McGinn came at him higher then a typical check. Maybe 2 minutes for the charge (I didn't see much before the actual check, so he very well could of came at him from afar), but 5 minutes? Do they even use double minors, anymore? Sheesh.

It's no sense even complaining about the referees though. They officiate in their own forms of reality. We all know it coming in, and it's frustrating seeing them make up penalties & lengths on the fly, but it's not like we haven't signed up for it by watching and already knowing. I think it's just a shame they can't get some form of consistency. I'm an understanding guy, you can't expect all calls to be right with how fast the game moves, but they are just absolutely atrocious in what they stare right at and let go and other times just make up a call based on God knows what.

Yeah, that kind of randomness permeates the whole system starting from the top. It sucks, but at least the games have been entertaining as hell despite it.

The funny thing is Stoll hit on White was worst. You can't call a 5 minute there, but the Sharks do those vest kill of the series there. Niemi save on that one rush was amazing! I am still shocked they killed it. I figured it was back here for game 7. Looking forward to the Hawks game. I think I rather have the Sharks play the Hawks than the Wings.

I've seen every Game 7 in Canucks history.

I've endured every heartbreak and indignity this team has thrown at me, from Mike Bossy to countless humiliations at the hands of the Oilers to Stan Smyl's breakaway to Joel Otto's kick to Mike Richter's save to the Stanley Cup riot to the Mike Keenan/Mark Messier era to Nik Lidstrom's shot from the red line to blowing a 3-1 lead against your Wild to Todd Bertuzzi's cowardice to Marty Gelinas to Patrick Kane and Dustin Byfuglien.

A loss tonight would be the nadir of this crappy franchise's existence. Unlike 1989 or 1994, there are no moral victories to be had in defeat. It would ruin not only this season but likely cripple the team for years. Hockey is 24/7/365 here, and the atmosphere will turn to poison.

Like I said in my preview, the pressure is just too much. I hope they'll win, but I think they'll lose.

But I'll endure that too. Win or lose, the Canucks won't kill me. I just wish they'd quit trying to.

Thanks for reminding me of that Wild comeback. That was just a great time in my life. I had just turned 21 and yeah...good times.

Anyways, the NHL Network has picked up the Habs/Bruins game in the US. Just in case 2 game 7's weren't enough and you wanted to flip over to some of that action.

I have a sneaking suspicion these two game 7s will be anticlimactic. I hope I'm wrong because I'm excited to sit in front of my tv for about 5 hours and enjoy some excellent hockey

I fear the double blowout though

I was just thinking about this today and I'm really excited. If the Hawks lose then I'll just watch the Bulls and the Chicago baseball teams. In Vancouver, it's pretty much Canucks or bust. Hockey is on everyone's mind all the time. I just couldn't imagine that.

Also, after watching the first 3 games of this series I can't believe there's a game 7.

Two game 7's tonight. It should be a lot of fun!

The Hawks almost literally have nothing to lose when you consider all of the above posted plus the fact they just won the Cup last year.

A true fan. I was neutral in this match-up, but now I'm pulling for a Vancouver win... If only for one man's sanity.
