There's also Kaprizov, who last time I checked was the KHL goals leader and could be here for 20/21.

Welp .... that was fun while it lasted. Looks like we have broken Hart right now. Simply can't start him in the stadium game .... too risky at this age. Could make or break him, yes, but too risky.

Mod: can we dump the poll results? We are showing half a page for what 11 people think.

Next season I'll just have a few teams in the poll. Top 5 faves maybe and an "Other" category.

Another crazy Leafs-Habs game. Leafs on a 3 game losing streak, and then go down 3-0 to the Habs in first period! Was looking like another bad game where something better come of this trade deadline.

2nd period Leafs get 2 goals, but are still down by 1 and have only won 1 game all season when trailing after 2.

3rd period, they tie it up and get a late go ahead goal. Then add in an empty netter and get an automatic goal on what would've been a penalty shot if the net wasn't empty. So down 3-0, win it 6-3!

And to give it an old school feel, lots of checking involved (mostly from Habs) and lots of back and forth between the benches and guys on the ice.

Still hoping for a big change come Monday.

My suggestion would be to just do it as a separate thread from the regular season talk so we don't have to see it.

It's annoying and to be honest, no one cares (as evidence by the participation).

Dzingel to Columbus for 2 2nds and Zuccarello to Dallas for a 2nd and a 3rd. Comparing the two deals, it feels like Columbus overpaid a bit based on the break-out year Dzingel is having, even if he is younger and more likely to resign as he played at OSU (yuck). Hopefully the Wings can get a similar package in return for Nyquist.

Really respect Jarmo for going for it this year.

Nyquist to San Jose for a 2nd and 3rd, which can become another 2nd if the Sharks resign him or if they go to the cup finals this season. The market has been set for a top 6 guy.

Buffalo trades one of their firsts and Brenden Guhle to Anaheim for Brandon Montour. Strange trade for Anaheim, usually teams don't trade away young quality defenders like that.

It looks like Jarmo has learned from the Gaborik debacle of not moving expirings away when in a playoff spot. They might even be able to recoup some later picks by trading player rights at the draft.

Despite a lot of fans knocking this trade, I think it was the right move & this was probably the best outcome the Wings could have got, considering Nyquist’s expiring contract.
I also think that at 29, as the Wings move into this new era within the next few years, Nyquist’s age means he is not an ideal block to build a team around.
Love ya Gus, sad to see you go, but good for the team. Good luck at the Sharks.

Vegas gets Stone, hope there isn't an extension for him so he can be a FA in the Summer.

                      Sens get Brannstrom, good get.

                        Hayes to Jets
Stone to Vegas (signed to extension 8x9.5 seems like)
                        Simmonds to Preds

If I'm a WC team, I give up lol.

Jets vs Preds 2nd round. And 2 of Vegas/Sharks/Flames in 2nd round. Division winner will be huge because you don't want to have to play Vegas in rd1

If Tanner Pearson is a horrific flop, this will likely still be Benning's greatest trade.

Whoever wins the Jets-Preds series I hope makes it to the finals(possibly win,if they're facing one of the other 7 EC teams).

That top 5 in the west right now looks real nice.

Nashville adds Granlund and Simmonds. Wow.

And Granlund for Fiala straight up? What.

ETA - also Hoffman stays in Florida

Looks like the Wild extended Staal as well. 2 years, 3.25 M per. Between that and trading for young NHL'ers, it looks like more of a remake than a rebuild it seems.

Speaking of half-assed, the Wings decided to hold onto Howard. I had a feeling it was coming, but it sucks that they didn't cash in on his strong season.
