Links 2004 Impressions Thread
My Gamestop is supposed to have it later today, I might trade some games in for it, not sure yet. I know some of you'll probably have it today and I'd really like to hear some impressions, especially gameplay.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Tags: None -
Re: Links 2004 Impressions Thread
Too early to give a full blown impression but I will say this.
Graphics are tight.
The control is much more sensitive and realistic IMO than any analog golf game before it (on console).
It is much more penal (read: realistic) if you don't make a good stroke.
the ball physics are EXCELLENT much better than previous games IMO.
Where as in previous golf games the ball always seems to end up on line or near the hole, in Links the ball bounces just like in real life...rolls through the greens, bounces off cart paths, into the desert etc. they all seem realistic.
And the putting...I LOVE the putting.
I like having control over the power of the putt based on my stroke rather than a distance line.
It just FEELS better overall. BTW I'm playing at Intermediate now, i will be bumping up to Advanced to build my character which removes the power meters.
I'm sure the gameplay options will be enhanced in the coming years as for actual gameplay so far I say... GREAT (if you like realistic yet fun play).
also you can skip ahead pretty danged fast to keep the play moving without watching slow moving animations and cut scenes and you can SAVE in GAME Woo hoo!!( oh my poor top Spin
)
Be back later with more details.

Re: Links 2004 Impressions Thread
It's awsome! It clearly takes a more sim approach than the console version of TW.
The graphics are simply stunning! Ducks in ponds, birds flying over, ocean side effects, rain, etc.
Less courses than TW, but downloadable courses, players, etc. are on the way through Xbox Live.
I'm still on the rookie tours in my career, but I've advanced all the way to some skins games.
I love this game and not even a huge golfer in real life.
Can't wait to jump in some tournaments through XSN.Comment
