No question about that. Tiger being good again is exciting. And now that we have all these young guys blazing on the scene, the 'old guard' vs 'young guns' aspect of tournaments will be really interesting. I still think Phil has one last shot at glory in him as well.

Didn't get to watch today but follow tiger tracker (if your on Twitter and don't I highly recommend it) but it sounds like he looked great and was just throwing darts at the greens and the drives, aside from one that went wide, were great.

I'm sure he's kicking himself over that +3 start through 4. That's the final thing he needs to work on before he can start winning again. Being ready on the first tee and not pressing so much early to make things happen. Today he birdied the 1st, which is a nice change.

He started on 10 today. Went 4 pars then a bogey to start.

Welp, that's what I get for not paying attention.

That means his first bogey was that par 5 that he parred yesterday. He's -4 on the 2 5s on the front nine - he's birdied both of them both rounds.

Yea that was his one bad drive which he actually rescued himself from but missed a 3 foot par putt.

Tiger is rapidly becoming a ceremonial golfer...If he doesn't start making some serious strides next season, I wonder if we'll ever see him seriously threaten to win again. It is possible to compete after 40 (Phil is doing a decent job of it), but coming back from the wilderness after 40 is pretty much unprecedented...

Tigger had back surgery today so despite saying he would be playing in October he's out until 2016.

Same surgery he had a few years ago.

Man...one wonders if this is the end. Another back surgery? At some point it's just not in his best interest to keep playing.

Pretty good (long) interview with Tiger in Time (yep, I didn't realize that was still a magazine either...):

Thanks for posting the article, solid read. I'm a big Tiger fan. I thought it was cool that the 18 majors was never his goal, it was all about the first time age gaps of winning majors by Jack.

I knew he had kids, but I never looked into it as much - he sounds like a great dad, and love to hear that him and Elin are besties!

Definitely seems like he's matured/maturing, and this is the by far the most introspective I've ever heard him be. Very candid. Definitely humanizes him to some extent. It also casts serious doubt that he'll ever be consistently competitive again on the PGA Tour, but thankfully for his sake, that now sounds secondary in his life.
