Caught the last 2 hours or so of LIV Golf coverage on the CW App last night, and about 4 hours tonight. Honestly loved it. If you want big names, good to great commentary/presentation, and a nice pace of play and shot coverage, with each round from start to finish lasting around 4.5 hours, it does the job.

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
That was by far the most entertaining pairing to watch. Spieth has always reminded me of a sort of younger version of Phil (better in many ways, certainly more level-headed and humble, but equally swashbuckling/exciting).
I would have preferred just watching their entire round, as I honestly didn't much care who won of the top contenders for the green jacket. They were pouring it in from all over, and seemed like they were spurring each other on throughout the round. Two of the most entertaining players of the past 20 year or so.

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
After watching Full Swing on Netflix, I've come to really enjoy and be invested in several guys, which has made watching the tournaments more enjoyable in return.
I'm hoping Rory and Koepka finish strong (Brooks is T-1st as I type this). And this Michael Block guy has been the story of the weekend, a PGA club pro who's currently in 9th place and looking for the best finish ever by a club pro.Boston Red Sox

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
That win today lifted him to legend status. Winning 5 majors is insanely difficult. Ernie Els never managed it. Greg Norman obviously didn't. And even Rory McIlroy hasn't reached that level. I rooted for Brooks because I wanted to see greatness. We got that this week.There... are... four... lights!Comment

I actually felt sorry for the guy after watching The Swing. Glad to see him win yesterday. He is on a different level than the other guys at the majors. So much for guys losing competitive ability when they go to LIV.Comment

And then it cut to his interview and he was like "Honestly, I haven't heard a word she's said in about a week".Boston Red Sox

The US Open is just a few weeks away...time to start prepping! Golf Digest just released their "Every Hole At" video for LACC.

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
So there's a guy here at Texas Tech, Ludvig Aberg. I'm sure y'all have heard about him by now lol.
He just swept the 3 major collegiate awards (Hogan Award, Nicklaus Award, and Haskins Award). He's only the second player ever to win consecutive Hogan Awards, with Jon Rahm being the other.
He's also the first player EVER to go directly to the PGA Tour from college. He's making his Tour debut next week at the Canadian Open.
Here in little ol' Lubbock, Texas.
(I also found out that Mito Pereira also went to Texas Tech, but that was 9 years ago).Boston Red Sox

Not sure the context of the stat you saw but he’s definitely not the first person ever to go straight from college to PGA tour.

Re: Actual Golf: General Tourney discussion
Sorry, missed a couple details. One article said there's a new exemption this year. And there's also this, which I misinterpreted a little bit.
With the accomplishment, the Swede becomes the first PGA Tour U No. 1 to earn fully exempt status on the PGA Tour, beginning this year and extending through the 2024 season.Boston Red Sox
