We are just under one hour away from multiple streamers going live to discuss and show off the updates, changes, and in-depth details of PGA TOUR 2K21.

CrazyCanuck1985 is going in depth on the course creator...looks like a lot of new items have been added, and plants/trees/etc. are global - they are no longer tied to themes.

Might not be the right thread for this but I thought I would add my 2 cents. I watched Respawn's game play video and as someone who was negative on this game I gotta say i have done a 180. Seems like 2k/HB have now incorporated some good things from the TW series. Game looks better and there are a ton of options.

Really want video golf to continue this is the only entry left. Gonna pre order this.

I will also admit...I am impressed by what they are showing today. I am just overwhelmed by the info at the moment. Gonna need some more time to see more detail on career mode and things like that.

Count me in as someone has done a 180. It’s clear now the marketing was not made for us. Presentation is top notch. I’ll be interested to see how that will carry over to user generated courses such as the cutscenes between holes. Also glad to see new replay camera angels and good to see the landing cameras seem to have returned.

I nearly fell out of my chair when Respawn introduced and demonstrated the swing calibration tool... awesome! I certainly wasn't expecting it!! I'm also shocked at the degree of customization there is in the game difficulty. This is more feature rich than I ever dreamed it would be.

Right off the bat, AI Opponent Difficulty levels in career mode seem a bit crazy...these are the average round scores to beat:

Very Easy, -2 to -3 per round
Easy, -5 to -6
Normal, -8 to -9
Hard, -11 to -12
Very Hard, -15 to -16

One cool thing is that it appears you can adjust the rounds per event based on event type. So you can set up career mode to have regular tour events to be two rounds, majors to be four rounds, etc.

Everything else is looking promising. I was really on the fence about this but looks like a definite improvement in pretty much every area. Presentation is MILES ahead from 2K19, an area I really didn't expect to get much love. Colour me hyped

I am watching a YouTube video now by Jim Gem on career mode, and it seems the scores may change based on your other difficulty settings, or perhaps what tour you are on.

Those scores I mentioned above were from TheApexHound video where he began playing in Q-School to get on the Korn Ferry Tour. In Jim Gem's video (watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8jHTqOgdy8), he jumps right into the PGA TOUR and gets the following AI Opponent Difficulty settings:

Very Easy, -1 to -3 per round
Easy, -4 to -6
Normal, -7 to -10
Hard, -9 to -13
Very Hard, -12 to -17

So, perhaps, scores adjust based on other factors, too.

Some not-so-good gameplay news...

Just saw this on the TGC Tours forums:

"At the top of your backswing a 1 second pause through a 4s pause will always produce exactly 96% power. Verified at RespawnTV."

Hopefully that gets fixed.

Does this apply to career mode? So if I wanna play a 4-round tournament I’d have to shoot 40-under to win?

Here's a screen shot, taken from the Jim Gem video that shows AI Opponent Difficulty settings:



The AI Opponent Difficulty was taken straight from the Career Mode setup menu. So, if you jump right into PGA TOUR and set the AI difficulty to Hard, the scores to beat will be, on average per round, -9 to -13.

So potentially, yes - with AI Opponent Difficulty set to Hard, the top AI scores will average from -36 to -52 for a four-round event.
