As an aside… Man have I gotten old in a hurry I guess.

I am just so not into the “new media” style here.
To this day it still amazes me how many people want to watch other people play video games in many different forms
    Amen. Couldn't agree any more.

I don't get why the 3-click swing flows in a continuous circle? Shouldn't it be a backswing / pause / downswing? What am I missing here? Is it just different for the sake of being different?

I watched a video this morning - can't remember who's but you CAN change the non-licensed events BUT he said you could only swap them out with approved courses. What that means idk but it doesn't sound like we'll be able to just replace the non-licensed events with whatever courses we want.

It seems there will be a "2K approved" list of courses you can choose from. These courses will be ones that 2K curates, and it sounds like more courses will be added to this list as time goes by.

But you're correct...you can't use a user-made ANGC clone in the 2K version of The Masters in career mode.

Seamount did a 3-click Legend difficulty round with Tiger Woods:

Here's another Seamount video that shows each individual playable pro, including their personal attributes as well as one hole with each that shows each player's swing:

I've seen a little bit of Respawn's video and Apex as Tiger, and Apex playing Q School. I thought TPC Boston looked more natural than in any other Golf Club iteration I've seen, but the player models look very similar to 2K21. The animation looked different in a good way.

I got from Apex that the chipping was more difficult and seeing him in action with it, I can see why. I'm glad it's going to be more difficult and will require more distance control touch.

I was anxious to see one of these guys go in an peruse the graphics settings, as I'm interested in seeing how many options we might have now for the Series X and PS5. I then remembered they're all having to play the PC version to get a beta build, so the graphics menus are going to be considerably different.

It's hard to get excited about something that can't communicate an answer to my most pressing question about the game, outside of Series X graphic's quality/performance options. That question is how does the swing feel now? Is there going to be a more linear relationship between club backswing and power? I felt like I had to make a 50% backswing in 2k21 to get an 80% result. Does the swing feel more responsive and maybe reflect some properties of interia?

I don't I'm going to get an answer to these until I play the game myself. I am sad to see that you're still going to be playing by yourself in career mode rounds!

ApexHound here, playing as Lexi Thompson at a fictional "official" course, using the 3-click swing.

Honestly, aside from the first tee shot, it sure seems 3-click ends up being pretty easy. Even missed tempo shots still end up just fine and are not punished very much. Not sure what difficulty Apex is playing on, but he ends up shooting a -12 round in his first round ever with 3-click...

I think Seamount played a 3-click round on Legend and it was much more of a challenge, so we shall see.

I watched him play Tiger on Pro setting with the swing stick and he said Pro might be more difficult than 2k21 so that goes against what was previously thought I guess.

In CrazyCanuck's MyCareer mode video, he said that that the standard pre-set difficulties are playing a half a skill easier than they did it 2K21. As an example, he said that Pro in 2K23 plays between Semi-Pro and Pro in 2K21 and Master is playing between Pro and Master.

Also, Doyley over at TGCTours said, " there's a zero chance we'll run Pro in 2K23 on the main tours", and "2K23 Master feels like a medium sized jump from Pro on 2K21 and 2K23 Legend feels like a larger jump, but still better/more fun/less frustrating than Master on 2K21."

                      So...who knows?

I like the new cut aways between holes. More broadcast like than 21. The shot of that tower Between the trees in seamounts video looked fantastic.

I watched both videos and if I'm not mistaken, Apex was playing in Pro difficulty. It's hard to gauge how this feels watching a video, but one thing that does stand out as a negative is the swing is not real time. You have to watch a meter to execute the shot, but the actually golfer animation doesn't start until you've completed the 'three clicks'. It looks fragmented to me and I know from playing other 3-click games that aren't real time that I lose my sense of immersion because of it.

I wish they had an option to not use a meter and base the 'clicks' off of what you see in the golfer animation in real time.

Oh, Seamount's problems mostly came from him not taking time to use the low camera option to gauge the degree of slope in the greens when putting. In legend he had no grid and I'm sure if he was playing in competition, he would have taken the time to get a better look at the slope. He 5-putted one green from 12 feet it appeared. I think he'd have broken par if he'd taken more time with putts.

Can't see myself playing 3 click. I can't see how you can get anything but a Fast or worse on these partial shots around the green. I think at least from what I have seen so far they did a nice job with the game and have gotten every drop out of the Unity engine. I guess this will be the last iteration to use it. Wonder how that would affect course designers and if any courses made for 23 would even be portable to a new engine. While I don't want to struggle to break 80 on a video game I hope they don't dumb down the way the game plays in this build we see now.
