Was halfway through watching and they pulled it hahaha. But 100 times better than what was shown yesterday. This should have been the trailer.

Video has been pulled. Got a couple viewings in. I did see New Swings, so good to see not everybody will have the same generic swing. Rahm would be a good example.
After a third viewing, it might just mean the 3 click system. Either way, Rahm’s swing does appear to be short, so we’ll see.Comment

If it's been pulled, here's a reaction video from a pretty solid guy in the community. Basically has the video in it, and his reactions to it:

That's how it was done in previous golf games...Tiger Woods 14 had sudden death playoffs (and even aggregate ones/18-hole rounds for the events that did playoffs in those ways), but due to licensing issues, you played against the opponent's score and didn't see their character hitting shots or anything.
I agree it would be cool to see the actual player hit their shots, but that may not be possible...although with the licensed pros, who knows?
I don’t even need to see them hit their shots, even just showing me shot by shot (in the correct order preferably) would suffice for now.Comment

It could be similar to the "play by play" thing that you see on PGATour.com or whatever...I would like that.Orbis Non SuficitComment

This video was better than the other from my perspective (the original clearly not targeted at an old guy like myself at all).
Looks like it could be a really good game. Fix the career mode and I'll be happy. Ideally let me customize the career mode schedule (let me insert user made courses).
While I prefer analog swing overall, for online competitive play I do prefer 3 click so maybe there could be some societies for that which I would find interesting.
I'm a buyer regardless as I buy most golf and sports games but I feel better about it today than Monday.
Sidenote, this NBA 2K eras has me pumped up and makes me want this for other games. Give me some DLC of 1986 golf Era for PGA 2K23. Let me play against Nicklaus, Faldo, Kite, Couples, Stewart, Watson, Crenshaw, an old Arnie, old Trevino, etc. (I know only me and about 5 other people want this...lol).Last edited by TheBrew101; 08-23-2022, 03:22 PM.Comment

At the end of the day... it's always going to come back to the leaderboard issues for those of us playing career mode. The presentation looks awesome, hopefully the leaderboard are fixed.Comment

Wonder if caddies are integrated into the gameplay? Maybe something along the lines of TW12 if you guys remember that.

I'd like to see maybe some kind of "confidence" bonus if you have a seasoned caddie...like you perform with an added accuracy bonus on the back 9 of the final round or something like that. And maybe if you have a newer caddie, you get only a distance range...not an exact distance for your shot, since they are not as experienced. For example, say you're exactly 153 yards from the hole on your second shot. With a newbie caddie, all you're told is that you're 145-160 yards away, and maybe you only know the direction of the wind...not the speed. Just some ideas that are floating around my brain...haha
Not sure if that is realistic to have in the game, but I could see this being an intriguing concept to have caddies actually mean something.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-23-2022, 04:15 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Same here...although for me, the way it was handled back then, was too much hand-holding and felt like the game was a bit on auto-pilot.

Oh for sure, TW12 basically told you the exact square foot to hit it , not exactly realistic [emoji23]

Caddies can be done but I doubt that (Especially in year one) they would be done right.
I think it's hard to program a computer to be wrong about something since it knows everything lol.
They could do a lot of different things like have different levels of caddies with different levels of knowledge.
In today's games, we get exact distance to the hole, the exact slope, and the exact wind.
What if instead of exact numbers we got general idea's based on the caddie's knowledge.
They should and would always know the cover number (front of green) but from there to the hole it's dependent on the amount of work they put in before the round. (Did they really step off every hole, from every possible angle from the cover number to the pin??)
I would never want to see drastic ranges by the way, that's just an example of one thing they can do with caddies to make it feel more customized and not as much of an exact science and gives you a reason to be dependent on a good caddy.
That said - what percentage of the games buyers do you all think would be happy with something like that? I'll hang up and listen.Comment

Maybe just allow it to be on or off in career mode? And make the caddies a visual thing in all other areas, like exhibition rounds and such.
I do think lots of folks want to see caddies for a visual inclusion and to make the course environment feel more realistic (more like the caddies were in Rory). I am not sure as many people want the caddies to actually make an impact, especially folks who do remember how they were done in older golf games, where it felt more like a crutch than anything.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-23-2022, 06:42 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment
