The player models are really bad for 2022. Gameplay is going to have be tight but I have serious doubts they made many changes.

Do we know if swings are mo-capped for pros (or, heck, at least Tiger)? If not, that’s a huge disappointment for a game in 2022. It did not look to me that they were in the trailer.

I may have gotten an answer to my question about an option to turn vsync off in the graphics settings. I was reading the "technical capabilites" of the Series X/S optimized version of the game and it lists "60 FPS+" as one of them. For that to be written that way, there would have to be a way to disable vsync, and let the Series X/S seek its best frame rate via Variable Refresh Rate, with 60 FPS being the minimum?

This game running at 60 FPS+ would certainly eliminate most fears I might have over seeing what last-gen player models represented by choppy animations I'm seeing on You Tube and Twitter.

looks better than 21 but still new engine needed. the 3 click might just get me playing it. wonder if the analog swing is better or same? overall it's very healthy for golf games again having the 2 big developers making golf. just wish a Japanese developer would make a golf game other than everybody's golf.

Getting rid of the career mode glitches is important for me. If Tiger has been at all hands-on in development they would have to have tidied it all up... wouldn't they??

Hard to tell in a trailer that looked less than 30fps. Won’t know until we get a full video that’s not compressed to hell. But the follow through looks like his though. With tiger as executive director, I don’t see how they didn’t. So I have a little bit of hope.

To be honest, I doubt Tiger went that deep in hands-on development to get to the bugs. His hands-on development is probably more what he wants in his golf game, to bring a new generation of kids into golf while trying to make it realistic and fun at the same time. That's what he said in the video.

So, the initial info has been out for over 24 hours now...and I had time to sleep on it.

I hate to say it, but the main thing I am thinking about after the info drop is the inclusion of "consumables" and how those will be incorporated.

Also, I don't think anyone's really mentioned the pricing of all these different editions...I mean, $120 for the Tiger Woods edition? That's kind of insane for a digital-only option that just includes a bunch of clothing, some VC, and a few gear/club items. Even $60 for the standard PS4/Xbox One version might be too much in this stage of those consoles' lives. I know that's how things are these days, but wow is that a lot of money for a golf game.

And I do agree that the look of this game is more dated than ever. Even TGC games back in the day were a bit behind in their visual quality. Now, with PS5 and a new Xbox on the market, this game will stick out like a sore thumb graphically.

I still feel yesterday's announcements were basically what I expected. But the positives have worn off quickly, and I really need to hear about career mode and the course designer to see if this will be a purchase for me - at least on Day 1, but potentially at all.

Will career mode tournaments that end up tied have playoff holes? Please? PRETTY please???

Consumables concern me as well MAB. I don't know how extensive their plans are regarding this, but I'd hate to say that I lost a match because I was playing with an older ball than my opponent.

I find the price packages to be bizarre. I'll pony up $10 for the Series X enhanced version, provided there's enough "enhancement" there to improve the looks and sound.

Maybe they will force you to buy more golf balls if you lose them in the wood or in the water, like in real life.

I haven't seen any links that talk about the enhancements for the different versions...I realize you're XBox, does anyone have a link that shows the differences between PS4 and PS5?
