imo, they should separate the rivals thing from career mode. That's what, 3 games in a row? I know it would look a lot like the old Tiger challenges, but then we would have a real career mode that way. And like the old EA games, the ladies wouldn't show up on the PGA leaderboard.

Swing looks good. Chipping animation is the weakest animation but I like the rest.

Agreed...normal swing animation looked good, but there was a lot of jittery-ness and hiccups when using the partial chips.

And again, that 22-foot, 2-inch downhill birdie putt he hit on 18 went 77 feet with very little backswing...it rolled entirely off the green. That's...something I am going to be interested in, in terms of how people react to it if these rollouts stay the same in the retail version of the game.

He did say he was playing on harder conditions, but the green speeds were shown as "149", meaning the longest distance you could hit a flat putt would be 149 feet. In PGA 2K21, a green set to "149" would be considered "medium" speed, I believe. For reference, the fastest you could have a green in 2K21 is Very Fast - "187".

I watched IGN's The Final Preview of the game because I had some time to spare. Can't say I put much faith in IGN previews and reviews, but I'm really rooting for this game to be good.

Don't think anybody has seen the final build they still have a chance to tweak some stuff yet.

In relation to putting...I watched the MyPlayer deep-dive videos from Respawn and CrazyCanuck again, and I noticed that there are the two attributes/stats for putting that can be affected by archetypes, skills, and putter fittings.

Putt Path is pretty straight forward, as it scales the push/pull forgiveness window. But Putt Weight scales the "backswing to downswing forgiveness window", and "hitting the target putt weight window is how you get the desired amount of power on your shot".

Seems like there is more to putting than just pulling it back the right amount, then pushing it forward and keeping the stick straight. It seems there's a window in the transition between the backswing and downswing of putts that affects power...

That was not a thing in 2K21...putting and putters were all about feel of the stick movement and had no attributes/stats attached to it. So basically, in 2K23, putting now also takes into consideration the back- and downswing tempo, just like any other shot.

Yes. The video is IGN's Final Preview, not 2K's final product.

I’ll have to go back and play 21, but i don’t remember cloudy days being a thing. I’d love for them to incorporate dynamic weather into this series… or at the very least, if you are in the lead going into Sunday you shouldn’t be teeing off at Sunrise.

Out of interest do any PC users play the game with a mouse or do all use controllers? I use a mouse and am not very good. Not sure if a mouse makes it harder and I should switch or I just need to practise more.

I have a friend in his late 60s that played 2k21 with a mouse on PC for a year, and wasn't very good. I convinced him to buy a controller and it completely changed the game for him. I can't imagine playing with a mouse unless it was 3 click only. He was coming from the old Links way of playing on PC. Controller is definitely better with the analog swing.

Quite a few questions answered but mostly highlight’s the lack of work that has gone into 2K23. Thanks for posting 👍🏼

Nothing new in the video. He said buy the game but do not expect a next gen experience. Since the game is still on Unity that is pretty much a given. They will have to make a decision on a new engine after this release. I know some people do not care but without user creator courses on of their major advantages will be gone. Let's see what the competition has in store.
