From what was said, they barely sold over 10,000 copies of the Masters TW12 on PC, we never saw another TW PC game after that. Without a decent return for investment, sadly they probably won't bother.

It really depends on the game. PGA2K23 in its current form would not exist without the PC community supporting HB Studios many years ago. EA is more console oriented with its sports games.

On the bad side, on PS4, the game seems very laggy and stutters a lot.

I bought the Deluxe version of the game for my XBox Series X. With that comes both the stock version of the game and the Series X/S enhanced version of the game. In the enhanced version, you have a graphics option for "Quality" (which targets 30 FPS) and "Performance" which targets (60 FPS). The performance mode eats quality mode's lunch in terms of animation and more importantly, swing feel. Seriously, the game stutters so bad in quality mode that I find it unplayable. Even when it doesn't stutter, it feels like I'm swinging the club underwater!?

Just out of curiosity, I started up the standard XBox version of 2K23 to compare differences. There is NO "Quality/Performance" option on the standard version. I tried playing it on my Series X and its swing performance is just as bad as the enhanced version in Quality mode, if not worse! I find it unplayable in its only setting, but maybe it's coded so as not to be played on the Series X?? I'm going to try the standard version later on my One X to see if it runs as sluggishly as it does on my Series X.

I'm enjoying the gameplay better overall. I think there's more nuance and feel to the swing. The chipping and pitching game requires so much more touch and I'm diggin' that. It's easier to flub a splash and flop shot as well, I give them props for that.

I can't get over how limited the player creator is though. You can't customize facial features to match your own anymore. All you can do is pick from about 16 models and find the one that's closest to you. You can tweak their skin weathering, dimple definition and cheek definition. You can also choose from a limited set of hair styles and facial hair, most of which look more like cartoon character styles. I can't believe they couldn't give us more configuration options than what we have here in 2022. Heck, The Golf Club 2019 had more tools to create a golfer that you could have identified me in a police line up from! I'm very puzzled at this??

I'm enjoying the game, but it's so disappointing to find so many options missing from previous versions. Can't even play with ghost ball players in Society events? At least not yet.... looking forward to the day one patch on the 14th more than the launch of the game itself at this point!

Wish I could answer that, but I don't have any experience with early access versions of the game through Steam. Does the catalog page on Steam for the game not list Early access on the feature bullets for the game?

You might be able to get an answer to that question in the Steam Community forum for the game. I'll take a peek over there and see if it's already been answered there.

Would you say the visuals on performance mode are poor compared to 2k21 or about the same?

"the deluxe edition downloaded and playable for me today. im on the east coast if that makes a difference".

Did they bring back the view other courses by designer? This is a real PITA that deletion because if a course was created by a user on a different platform from you there is no way to even know who designed it. While you can find courses over at TGC the names sometimes won't match up.

Doesn't work for me unless I can play with David Portnoy. Do you ever get the feeling you are no longer the target audience? Guess I'll have to break down and get a PS5 for the other game. If I can find one.
