Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Trailer, Screenshots, Features and More Revealed
I also don't think a bunch of actual gameplay was shown. There was some gameplay shown for sure, but they did show a lot of other things, like the create-a-player menu, career mode screens, some cinematics, etc. The video itself was about 2:30 long. I'd imagine it will be posted again sometime soon...probably tomorrow if I had to guess.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 01-20-2025, 02:34 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

The other takeaway I had was your golfer does now have an overall rating as someone posted earlier. There were 12 categories to apply points. They looked similar to what club fittings did in 2K23.
Also looked like there were "shot type" trees to unlock like EA golf. I dont like that idea personally but will see how it plays out.Last edited by TheBrew101; 01-20-2025, 02:42 PM.Comment

Thanks MAB……Really interested in transition being added. Fingers crossed it’s an engaging way of using the controller. Impossible to do those four categories on one stick movement so must be using L1 and R1 for transition in synchronous timing with stick movement. ( Could be two analog sticks) interesting 🤔Comment

Noticed the shot type presentation/style seemed more in line with EA's...they specifically showed the "Stinger". Not sure how it will actually be implemented, but it does seem "inspired" by what EA did.
They also showed a lot of customization stuff, some things from career mode, and actual gameplay with the new swing. Looks like you have "followers" in career mode, there are a ton more faces to choose from when creating a player, etc.
Hope the video gets released here again soon...after all, tomorrow marks one month to early release!Comment

Speculation on my part but I paused it on each of the swing results (nerdy I know but this is the part I'm very interested in with new game). I'm not sure exactly what would make this different than 2K23 other than the 4 points are not visually represented but there is probably some other aspects to it.Last edited by TheBrew101; 01-20-2025, 02:59 PM.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Trailer, Screenshots, Features and More Revealed
Just guessing but I think it is still with stick only providing outcomes. I had paused it on the video where a golfer hit a bad shot. I think it has to do with the top and bottom of the swing. The example they had was a bad slice. The path was out to in but the bottom part was still "in the cone" so it was a slice path but the top part missed the cone to the right so the "face was open". The shot was a weak fade in water. So my guess is top part is "contact". It looked like maybe if swing was maintained it would have been pull. Cant tell a lot from video 1 second clips but to me this is promising. The other missed shot was one that slightly missed bottom mark to the right and then slightly missed top to left. This was slight pull with "closed" club face. Makes sense given path.

Probably all on one stick but that’s not worthy of a big EVO swing tag. I have fed ideas into EA & 2K for at least ten years on making the controller swing more engaging……Just hope they done something new 🤞🏼Comment

Another thing I also noticed in the trailer was that there sounded to be a new career mode commentator...the voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't tell you exactly who it was. But it was definitely not Luke Elvy or Rich Beem.
EDIT - just thinking about it more, it sounded like Andrew Catalon, who does NFL, NCAA basketball, and PGA Tour commentary for CBS here in the US.
It did sound like good ol' John McCarthy was also back doing some form of commentary, too.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 01-20-2025, 03:37 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K25 Trailer, Screenshots, Features and More Revealed
Very little was shown in it, to be totally honest, in terms of raw gameplay or presentation. It cuts around a lot, showing a wide range of things. Some character creation menus, club progression, skill trees, career mode, shot types, etc. There were some...interesting created characters shown..haha
There was no real look at presentation other than maybe a couple cinematics and trophy presentations. Didn't see CBS or any other kind of TV-style graphics.
I would hope there will be a blog post or something to go along with it, because the video showed some things, but didn't explain any of them. It did really brief hits of things and moved on to the next. There's no voice over, other than a few bits of commentary, and no on-screen descriptions of the details they're showing.
All that said, what was shown, looked phenomenal. Can't wait to get more info, as the trailer got me pretty excited.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 01-20-2025, 05:48 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Have it on decent authority that it will be out tomorrow.
