They also still use the term "cosmetic" when distinguishing a golf ball item, so I'd assume that means there will still be consumable balls as well.

Things like that are assumed to be in games these days, but I hope it doesn't go more into the pay to win side of things...

EDIT - the game is now up for pre-order on Steam, with a new screenshot included:

Love this interface so much better. So much cleaner

Maybe that plus Torrey Pines North would be the 29 they mentioned.

A little disapponting to not see any additional courses besides the major courses, I would love to see Muirfield or either of the Hawaii courses make a return to golf games. I would also like to see Spyglass included in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in Career Mode, especially if they are including both Torrey Pines courses in Career Mode. Overall though it is an impressive lineup of PGA tournaments, I think they have most tournaments in almost all main season months now.
Totally agree with you about Hawaii courses. Felt like it's been long overdue since we've had courses from the islands in these golf games (outside of the community designed ones of course). Used to always love playing Kapalua in the Tiger games.

Really happy seeing Portrush and St Andrews make their way to 2K. Two of my favorite courses out there. Good call on Muirfield too, that would be awesome.

But I'd definitely loved to see a "surprise" top course make its way to the game kinda like when EA brought in Tara Iti (that personally caught me off guard and had me real excited).

A course like maybe Sand Hills would be awesome for example. Some other courses in general I'd like to see are Royal County Down, Old Head Links and Turnberry

Overall think the game looks really good from what we've seen so far. I just hope we do get some new swing animations because as others mentioned, the swing is critical. Giving our MyPlayer's some swing options to choose from would be amazing.

I also hope the loading times are much faster now (unless it was just me, the times were quite slow), especially with the focus shifting to just the current gen platforms. Finally, I'm hoping the game will be playable on Steam Deck again. That thing is awesome and so it would be great to tee it up again on it.

2k23 plays great on the PlayStation portal. I’m just burned out on it, so I haven’t touched that game in a few months. I’m looking forward to it, as I’ve mentioned before I’m not pre ordering until I see unedited gameplay. That’ll be the deciding factor for me. Since it looks like the same swing animation, I’m not really sure what else this “evo swing” can do to make it worth while.

Yeah I've heard great things about the Portal. Looks beautiful. I also understand the burnout; it's time for something new, golf wise. And I know what you mean about waiting it out. I too am really curious if there's more to the swings. The swings are a huge draw for me as well so hopefully we see some gameplay which I'm sure we will.

I was looking forward to this game with significantly less enthusiasm than I had in Golf Club/PGA 2KXX games past, until I read the press release, mentioning the EvoSwing. I don't really have a clue what it could mean for how the gameplay feels, but the fact that they've coined a term for it shows me that they at least think they've created something here that's substantial enough to warrant a unique tag. "Evo" suggest that it should be different, instinctual, and perhaps changing as the game's swing habits change.

It's hard to describe why I find this so intriguing, but until I actually try it out myself, I'll be trying to learn all I can about it. I found 2K23's swing interface, at least on the XBox Series X, to be a bit inconsistent and lacking in integration. I got to the point where I hate to hit a chip or a modulated pitch shot because it seems like the game doesn't track the thumbstick movement with the fidelity it should, and it really shows up in these two areas.

Are you using a stock Microsoft controller, OD? Seems like most of the Xbox players over at TGCTours swear by the Razer Wolverine line of controllers, as it offers a more consistent swing.

I just got a Gamesir G7 HE controller last week. It is a major improvement over the XBox Elite 2 controller I was using, at least in this game... the Elite 2 works fine in every other game I play on my XBox Series X.

I started to buy a Razer Wolverine 2, but a few of the XBoxers in the TGC Tours forum talked me into the Gamesir G7 instead. I don't regret is because I'm now being competitive in the XBox society I play in again. There's still something missing with the pitching and chipping game with the G7 on the XBox, IMO. I don't have this complaint about the chipping and putting using this same G7 controller on the PC version of 2K23.

I've got my Gamesir G7 set at a polling rate of 500 Hz, but the XBox Series X caps the polling rate at 125 Hz, I'm told. It does make a difference somehow when I go from 250 Hz t 500 Hz on the G7's profile, but I imagine this would be a lot better if the polling rate was 500 Hz on the Series X.

I may just go with the PC version of 2K25 since Society play will be cross-platform in the new game. I only went with the XBox version of 2K23 primarily, because most of my friends are on the XBox.

I'll be getting it for PC this time as I am transitioning from Playstation to PC for anything multiplayer as I am no longer willing to pay Sony's $80/year ransom fee to let me use my internet service.

To go along with this, they start by saying "Introducing EvoSwing: Swing your swing and play your game with a new system that truly nails the feel of handling a golf club."

The bolded part is intriguing to me. Is it just a saying to say, or is there a bit of a hidden meaning there? Time will tell I guess.

Sounds good but what is it? I'll probably buy the game but I'd like more info on what that is.

I totally forgot to go back and listen to the narration a couple of times. I now remember hearing this but I didn't break it down. "Nails the feel of handling a golf club.... hmmmm. Could that possibly include the component of rhythm in the game?

Some people have a slow backswing and some have a fast one. Could the game possibly analyze this against a metric to have it affect the result of the shot? I think there's a potential here for some uniqueness.

Thanks for pointing this out. Those are only a few words from 2K, but it could mean so much in terms of a new, more tactile layer of the game.

I assume we’ll hear one thing per week leading up to the game.

                              - gameplay
                              - career

                              - multiplayer

                              Something like this?

It feels like they’re taking the EA approach this year. Almost nothing, then media blitz the week or two before launch.
