I gotta buy a couple cars. need some cash. I need to pick up a couple V6's. I love my souped up Cobalt. It maxes out at about 165 mph as a B class car. However, at the end of the day, it's still a 4 cylinder car and can't really compete as a B class car. I'm finally understanding the whole class of cars. I hate you can't customize the cars the game awards you. You can upgrade them, but not customize paint them.

Thanks man - I'll give it a shot tonight once I buy the car. I am using my newly won Tommy Kaira Skyline to domindate the AWD races right now...I love that I haven't had to buy a new car yet

I got my Cobalt to a S Class Car but cant seem to get the gear ratios down.....been messing around with them and the highest i got my speed to is about 215-220 but then i loose alot of grip....just trying to find that perfect setup for diferent tracks....like for a track with alot of turns..save setup as....for speedway...save setup as....and so forth....

How are some people earning so many credits? I see people are paying 5 million or more credits for some cars. It would take me months to earn that many credits.

I'm at that point now...I've done some offline and online races (really hating the offline Career in the upper classes), and I've bought and upgraded a D, C, and B car. Have few hopes of buying an A or above. My driver level is going up achingly slow now as well

Also, has anyone successfully received the "Driver Level 20" achievement? Kodiak and CJ didn't unlock it online last night, and I didn't get it when I passed it in my career this afternoon.

How many credits have you earned? I think I'm at Driver Level 15 or so playing mostly offline on intermediate difficulty I think, but I'm only at 300,000 credits. I have just been using the prize cars so I haven't bought any cars other than a Shelby GT500 from the AH for 11000 credits.

I got the level 20 achievement today...no issues although I've played this game exclusively offline so far. I've been struggling a bit with cash although I was able to get my Ferrari 612 when I saved the cash. The prize cars are the way to go anyway - some of them are already dominant!!

I'm at level 27, almost 28. I have around 970,000 credits. Once you start doing some of the races that are higher up you get more money for races. Right now I would say I get about 15,000 - 19,000 credits per race, then you get a bonus for completing a series and thats around 25,000 credits.

Now if only my disk would load all the time....

yeah I'm a level 24 and it was all earned offline. The credits from online simply count towards upgrades/new car purchases, not your level.

Actually, you can custom paint the cars you win. You have to cover the stock decals up with a layer first though. Take the square layer and make it the color of your car, then blow it up and cover up the old decals. Then you'll have a clean slate to work with. I'm pretty sure I did this with one of the award cars.

That's true, but there are others you can't do anything with. I won a Tommy Kaira Skyline and I can't even paint the new rims I bought for it....not a huge deal, but I would have liked to be able to customize the paint though

I'm not understanding the achievements, since the Driver Level and Car Level go up in online career matches...and yet I haven't received the "Level 20" achievement and my Focus got up to the "Level 5 Car" achievement tonight as well...

You have to play offline to get the achievement. Since you are at the level, complete one offline race and you'll get both achievements.

Basically it means I won't get too many more achievements, because I am so utterly bored wtih single player that I don't even touch it anymore. I play with the cars and race online. Single player is boring as hell, there's just no goal.
