Since I had time to sleep on it I think I was more mad at one of the guys in particular. Once they come down in front of me I drafted up to his bumper and just stayed on him. He told me if I was to spin him that he'd make sure I didn't finish the race. Of course I told him I hadn't even touched him, yet. Then he just kept on taunting me and saying things that I know would get me banned from OS, I'm pretty sure he would be banned from iRacing to for it if someone was to report him. But he sounded like he was only 15 or 16 so I guess he's just one of those kids that don't know when to shut up. Oh well it's just a game.

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Well, I did the interview with Steve Myers this morning from iRacing, and it was really cool. He is great guy and full of knowledge. Just when I didn't think I could be more impressed with iRacing as a whole, this interview took it up another notch.
Should have the interview up by Monday at the latest, with a nice little surprise for all OS non-iRacing subscribers.Last edited by bluengold34_OS; 07-07-2011, 06:08 PM.Twitch - bluengold34_osComment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
If anybody's interested in a fixed setup league, Big Red Racing is the best one I've come across on the net.
All of the divisions start practice sessions on race nights at around 8PM ET, and the qualification generally runs around 10ET. If you're not on the server 30 mins before qual, you start from the rear of the field, so it gives guys time to run laps together before a race and get a feel for each other.
Trucks run on Sunday nights, Dallara Indycars on Wednesdays, and they just started with the NTM Nationwides on Thursdays. These are primarily oval series, but there are a couple road courses thrown in on the Indycars.
We started 37 guys last night at Atlanta, with 34 still running at the checkered flag. I have never seen the level of give and take that I've witnessed in a couple races with these guys. Even on restarts where the field backed up (I started the race in 30th and frequently restarted anywhere from 18th to 25th), not ONCE did I see somebody shoot the field 3 or 4 wide trying to pick up a bunch of spots before turn 1.
We had a 30 or 40 lap green flag run to end the race last night, and guys were battling HARD, but wouldn't force bad positions and cause wrecks.
Bottom line: if you're into fixed setup racing, go check out BRR. There's a driver application you need to fill out and then choose a number (only a few left at this point), and then you can run in any of the series you wish. This is a top tier setup they've got, and I'm honored to be running in it now.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Let me know your user name so I can add you as a friend. We have to get us an OS race up one evening. I will be glad to host one anytime, we just need to set aside a good day and time for all of us and password it so just us OS guys will be in it.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
It was good racing with you at Chicagoland, Manny. However instead of people trying to race, it's okay to run over a slow car. I guess next time I'll hammer it and spin in front of everyone and get the same result.Comment

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
Yeah, I finished 7th but those guys were pretty bad for being A class drivers. I didn't have anything for them since the Chicagoland Advanced set up isn't very fast. I was able to keep my car clean all race but only by luck."The older I get, the faster I was!"

Yeah, I ran the Chicago advanced also.
I'll try to meet up with you when I can online.Comment

License level wont tell you about the driver, its their irating. iRacing made it extremely easy to get into any license now (fast tracking) so dont judge by the stripe.Aaron

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
In the three hosted races I participated in yesterday, the pace car led the most laps! It was so frustrating since Bob and I strolled into a hosted practice room at Michigan and turned 30-40 laps runs on the same tires. Seeing how tires fall off is really cool. The guys who make the fastest adjustments on the track will fair best.
I can safely say that I'm ready for some OS hosted races. I'm thinking we should start with some Tally, Daytona or a wide track like Michigan and work from there."The older I get, the faster I was!"

Re: iRacing after 2+ years
I'd throw out Daytona and stick with Dega for a plate track. Especially for guys who haven't sat through hundreds of laps at Daytona, the bumps and spots where it will throw your vehicle up a lane can just wreck a race. It just takes one guy to not quite know what's coming.
I'd love to run some fixed setup sessions though, that'd be a blast. Always thought fixed setup racing was the best racing out there.Comment

Talladega(for sure)
Michigan(for sure)
Texas(?)
Atlanta(?)
Now what we need to do is find the best Tally and Michigan set-up that people like and we will use that as the fixed set for the race.
