    Online - You can do a 30min. practice, and allow or disallow the following...
    • Tire wear from normal to x5
    • No flags to full flags
    • No cautions, quick cautions, or full cautions
    • Damage and engine failures from off, to visual, to full.
    • Drivers assist on or off.
    • Custom setups on or off
    • Grid order random, fastest practice lap, fastest lap reversed (the slowest guy starts first), skill rating or previous race results.

    Online games require everyone to be in the lobby prior to starting the race... No timer, the admin can hit launch race and they also have a voting option.
    Nice setup. Grid order is intriguing! Able to start the slowest guy up front and make the 'aces' chase him. Really cool as long as it's honest guys playing and not some idiot noob milking the system and block-to-wreck the aces when they catch him.

      So far all of the things I have seen here have been promising. I am still going to wait until more reviews are out here and see what you all say about this year's game.

        I still haven't gotten the patch yet. The main reason that I buy the ps3 version of this game is because of the g27. I'm more of a 360 guy.

        If you are registered ask someone over there whether they are on 360 or ps3. Thanks!

            Re: I have the NASCAR The Game: Inside the Line

            Ok did two races at Dega with both races being 37 laps. I did the first one on hard and the second one on champion diffuculty, both with very limited assist and did not qualify either.

            Race one(Hard-start 43rd)

            It was not super easy to hold the draft but I did gte the hang of it, and after 16 laps of good racing by both the AI and myself I had worked my way up to 26th. I might have been up there a little quicker, but I scraped the wall a bit on lap 7 and I lost 4-5 spots by doing so. So I go into pit and as I come out and re-enter the track, there was a huge accident and that claimed about 15 drivers. Everyone pitted except for Truex Jr. and Myself.

            MTJR was 1st and I was 2nd as we restarted and we started to pull away from the field around lap 26, and by lap 31 I had pulled away from him, and ended beating the rest of the field by 8 seconds at the finish. Who knows what would have happened if that accident didn't happen right when it did.

            2nd race - Started in the back again and through 15 laps it was a struggle to stay between 35th and 39 position. You really have to stay in the draft and drive well on this level to even have a shot at gaining positions. I have it on pause right now with 20 laps to go, and I am in 36th position.........

              Wow.

              Sounds like a pretty sizable gulf between Hard and Champion...but Champion sounds good for the crazy-skilled players out there.

                Could be Dan, but have tried it on 1.5 mile or short track either. It would help if I had my wheel hooked up for champion mode also. Still way too early to make a call either way. Will try get some more impressions up here in a bit of running 1.5 and short tracks on hard and champion......

                  Well I can definitely confirm that hard at a track like Richmond is hard. You better be patient and now your marks are prepare to suffer the consequences. It is hard, but fun and very well done.

                    Sounding encouraging.

                    Redefining the difficulty levels would help:

                    Very Easy = Lightning McQueen
                    Easy = Ricky Bobby
                    Medium = Cole Trickle
                    Hard = Tony Stewart
                    Champion = Kyle Busch when butt-hurt

                      I will say I just raced Michigan on Hard for a 20 lapper and I cam in 38th. So as you can see there is so much more to testing a game out then just racing it for a few laps, and I will hit it again this evening around 815 est.

                      With all that said, the one thing I can confirm 100% is that the game is really fun and the AI is much much better than last year. This feels like a game that will get plenty of spin time in the system for months.

                        With everything I'm reading so far and videos I'm seeing over at the official site, looks like it might be worth taking the chance on for me. I figure I can get it at GS and if I can't stand it for some reason, Forza Horizon will be 'plan B'.

                        Either that or I'll be the slut that I am and get both.

                        I have no will.

                          Awesome to hear some of these early impressions guys. Im pretty pumped for tomorrow now to pick this one up. I was reading some impressions, and watching some of the vids posted over at the games official forums too, and all indications so far are that this game is much improved over the first one. If that's the case, no doubt will I be happy with it since I thought they built a great platform to start from with the first game. I figured tomorrow I'd spend most of my day playing Halo 4, and slowly working this one into the day, but after reading some of the stuff I have been, I think this might be getting quite a bit of playing time tomorrow now too.

                            Brandon, play Nascar first. Halo 4 is supposed to be nearly a '10' kind of amazing....Nascar might suffer it's afterglow if you play it 2nd :P

                            It sounds like we should give this game a fair shake!

                              I'm a big Halo guy, in fact that's the reason why I bought an XBox in high school; I was sick of always having to go over to a friends house to play Halo:CE. Up until then I was a PS2 guy. That being said, Halo:CE was my favorite and nothing came close...until I played Halo 4. This game is amazing, probably the best game (in terms of overall) I've ever played. It's ridiculous. Simply amazing. I got Halo 4 and NASCAR on Thursday and had picked up and was playing AC3 non-stop and it was a battle of those 3 games. I played Halo 4 non-stop for about 10 hours and beat the campaign, then popped in NASCAR and have been taking breaks from that with AC3.

                              On Wednesday AC3 was my GOTY, now it's Halo 4 and nothing will touch that. NASCAR has been a pleasant surprise and I'll be picking up both.

                              I will say there's a few minor annoyances I've noticed, at least one I expect to be fixed with the day 1 patch (aka, the patch we just got):

                              1) In career mode with "default" (crappy) equipment it took me a while to get up to speed at Daytona, but once I did if I got in the draft then pulled out (say, on the backstretch) of line I could pass a bunch of guys who were nose-to-tail. Not FLY by them mind you, but I could pick off a few. The 2-car tandem is still boss, if you can pull it off.

                              2) I was racing in career at Vegas last night, used a rewind, and everyone else but me started running again...but at half or three-quarter speed (I was running at full speed). It was kinda funny, except I restarted because I didn't want to "cheat". EDIT: This was the thing I expect that was addressed with the patch.

                              3) I asked earlier how to change the paint scheme in career and we came up with nothing...well I signed a new sponsor last night and the paint scheme changes with the sponsor. Before, I had a white/yellow one with Sprint as the primary sponsor, now I have an orange/black/green with Bass Pro Shops as the primary. Not sure how I feel about that; the colors I can see being set but being able to change the way the car looks would be cool. Granted I saw you could "purchase" new schemes with in-game cash (the kind you win after races), so maybe that's what you have to do if you don't want the sponsor's "default" scheme.
