I just picked up 2004 for the xbox for $10 on ebay. I havent got it yet, but Im really looking forward to it.

I came across this blurb while reading the preview at GameSpot just now:

The game, which is currently set to be an Xbox exclusive in North America but will also be released on PlayStation 2 in Europe, will introduce online play for up to 12 players for the series and support races lasting between 10 and 200 laps. It's worth noting that the game will also support pre-race qualifying sessions online, allowing players to earn places on the grid rather than being randomly positioned, as is often the case in online racers.

I am not a big racing fan, but I have an urge to play a good, fast racing game. Indy Cars fit that bill..

Is Indy Series 2005, and the series in general, considered a good game, and are you all expecting good things, or not really?

I have Project Gotham Racing 2, but I haven't been able to get "into it" yet.. But I am intrigued by Indy Car Series 2005, as it is a type of racing game I have never played before, and I kind of feel I may be missing out.

Anyone have additional thoughts or expectations regarding this game?

Is this game worth getting? I really want a good iopen-wheel racing game for XBox, whether it's Indy style or Formula 1.

Also, is this game just the IRL, or is it CART?
