Ok, I'm taking a bit of a break to post some impressions.
First up, Wireless isn't working for me. It finds my connection then has an error message when its "Updating" so I'll have to try and figure that out later.
Wii Sports is amazingly addicting. I really like all of the mini games in it, with boxing being perhaps my least favorite. Baseball is a lot better than I thought. I had a buddy come over and changing speeds really makes a lot of difference. We were fooling each other bad with it. You can throw fastballs (I got it as high as 96mph), changeups, splitters, curves, and screwballs and you can change speeds on each one and even throw sidearm if you wish. It was very satisfying when you launch one over the wall after a 10 pitch at-bat. Golf feels remarkably intuitive and I can't wait to get a fleshed out golf game with a full set of clubs and larger courses (You only have a driver, iron, wedge, and putter and only has 9 holes). Tennis seemed awkward at first because you don't really control where your players move but after a game it became second nature. My friend and I got some really good vollies going. It's awesome that this game comes with the console as it does a great job of selling the Wii.
Madden proved a bit of a challenge at first. There are a lot of motion sensing maneuvers and learning how to properly perform audibles and change receivers on the fly took some getting used to. Once we figured everything out though we had a nice shootout between the Colts and Pats. Throwing passes is almost too much fun as it makes you want to just throw on every down. I connected on some deep balls where had to really get some air under the ball and it just felt natural, like I was tossing a ball in the backyard. The kicking game received some negative press in the IGN review but it seemed fine to me. Neither me nor my friend had any trouble getting a lot of leg into the ball. I look forward to logging some more time with this title. Next week we'll have to try out the 2 on 2 mode.
As far as fatigue goes, there were a few moments where I felt a little tired. That mostly happened as a result of the baseball game as we were really trying to crush the ball or put some heat on our throws. It was a good fatigue though, where you don't really notice it until the game is over. You could also easily sit and play the game and swing and pitch by just flicking your wrist but its definitly more fun to stand up and take a full cut. I love how the Wii remote is constantly tracking your movements so if you wiggle the bat it picks up on that, if you raise your hands in triumph after knocking your opponent out in boxing it also depicts that.
I also have Zelda and I'll post some impressions on that in the dedicated thread either later on tonight or tomorrow.
