Re: Official Wii Discussion
Wii News Channel is pretty good. One of the top technology stories is the release of the PS3 in Europe...LOL
I like the globe function a lot, it looks like news papers on each city.Comment

Re: Official Wii Discussion
anyone going to try to pick up a Wii at Wal-Mart's big sale at midnight? I am seriously considering it. I just can't decide whether to go ahead and get one now or wait until after I pick up a PS3. I just don't know if I will have time for all 3 of them since I can't spend but maybe 10 hours a week with the 360 and PS2 as it is. If mlb 2k7 is good, I can skip the PS3 I guess. That's the only reason I want it and the Blue Ray player would be good too.
I really think the Wii would be a lot of fun though and I have been looking for one without success for months. I think I could snag one tomorrow, but I just don't want waste money. Do you guys think I would have any problems selling it after it's been opened and played for a month or so?NFL: Tennessee Titans

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Conveniently, we have a road game about 2 hours away. We'll be getting back into town around 11:15-11:30 at night, so I may just stick around at school for a bit and do some work and head to Wal-Mart around midnight to see if I can get lucky for once.
I've seen every peripheral that's out there and every Wii game known to man, but NOT A DANG SYSTEM ANYWHERE!!!! That ends tonight *crosses fingers*XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Well, did the Wal-Mart thing this morning. Had a far away road game last night and got back into town around 11:00. Got to the Wal-Mart around 11:30. Did my errands there and wandered thru electronics every 10 minutes or so....as were about a dozen other people. Something was up, but no consoles in the department.
At midnight, I ask a stocker when they're putting out the Wiis. She says they're handing them out IN LAYAWAY at midnight (I never saw a sign for this anywhere!). So, I head off to layaway only to see the room packed (but organized). I've got to meet at buddy at 12:30, so I head up front to check out, figuring that with only a handful of Wiis, that I'll have to look again a later time.
At the front checkout, one of the first dad's to get one gets in line behind me. I mention how nutso it is back there and ask how many they have to sell. He says they have 31 and that there were maybe 17 people back there. Ohhh.....nice to know. His wife says they're moving pretty quickly, so I checkout and head back to layaway.
By the time I get back there, there are only 6 people left...so I grab a seat. 5 minutes later, I'm walking out with one, and a set of 3rd party component cables!!!
I just got done setting it up, and my wife and I have our Miis created and I've tried all the "sports" in Wii Sports. I would say, in order, my favorite is Bowling, followed by Tennis, and then Golf.
This afternoon, I'm gonna run down to a local media place and rent Madden or something for it. He has all the games for rent...it's kinda cool!
I'll get my Wii Friend Code in my sig soon.XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Official Wii Discussion
You guys are going to love this machine. The wife and I play video games together now, really for the first extended period of time. She'd be interested in a few XBox games here and there, but it's never been like this. I love it!Comment

Re: Official Wii Discussion
Oh, ever since I mentioned the controller and it got closer to launch in November, my wife's been a little bit intrigued. She's totally hooked on the DS, so I didn't think it would take too much to get her into the Wii.
She had a phase where she would tolerate the ps2 or XBox with a DDR or kart-racing game, but that was it. Racers is about as far as she'd deviate from DDR. With the DS, she finds a new game she wants to play about every month (this month: Cooking Mama; last month: Trauma Center; previous month before that: Elite Beat Agents). She's already said today that she wants to try Cooking Mama on the Wii.
I totally agree with you TJ, we'll play a TON together...espeically Wii Sportss. She's meeting a friend in Madison today and she's specifically looking for another remote and nunchuck.
We hope to take it to our parents houses and get them hooked as well. I think they'll love it!
Okay...off to rent something for it now!XBox Gamertag: djbeth77
