    Nice.

The bad thing about Platinum trophies for the PS3 is they are worth a certain percentage. It should be worth nothing and just an icon like here.

Is completed finishing the singleplayer or getting all of the achievements? I think it should be the former.

SDCC 09: South Park XBLA is Tower Defense

Way back at E3 2008 Microsoft announced a South Park game was headed for Xbox Live Arcade, but nothing more was said of the title –- until now. At this week's San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! will be playable on the show floor. That's right, even South Park has gone tower defense. The cast of the cartoon will engage in snowball battles that play similarly to games like Fieldrunners, Star Defense, or Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders.

Microsoft even gave a release date for South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!: October 7, to coincide with new South Park episodes on Comedy Central. Look for IGN's impressions of the game from SDCC this week.

New Halo destination planned for Live

Good news, Halo buffs - Microsoft is launching a new "destination" on Xbox Live especially for you.

Titled Halo Waypoint, it will feature exclusive videos along with news, podcasts and screenshots.

You can also expect "a new challenge for Halo gamers with a career system and player rankings tied to both in-game and out-of-game accomplishments related to Halo".

Naturally, Halo Waypoint will premiere the new Halo Legends anime shorts announced earlier. It will also play host to some Making Of videos.

Halo Waypoint is due to launch this autumn.

SDCC 09: South Park XBLA Details

IGN: The game description of "snowball throwing action" makes it sound like this game might be a more action oriented tower defense game. Is that true?

Christopher Brion: This game is really action oriented. Each of the kids act as a moveable tower and the player has control of their fire rate and direction of attack. The kids can also fire-off snowballs on the run. One of my favorite things in this game is running down a tough mob and defeating them before they escape. That kind of gameplay is not possible in a typical tower defense game.

IGN: How will the four-player co-op mode work?

Christopher Brion: In four-player co-op mode, each of the four players control one character, who can throw snowballs at enemies, build towers and design mazes. All of the kids also have their own unique, special abilities. Timmy who is unlocked during game-play for example, has a Battery Booster attack based on the episode Fourth Grade where Timmy's turbo-charged wheel chair destroys everything in his path.
IGN: Will the voice work be done by the original actors?

Christopher Brion: Yes. Trey, Matt and all the actors who voice characters on the show are in the game. It wouldn't be South Park without them. Well over a thousand lines of dialogue were recorded for this game, and all of the music for the game is also written by the same composer who works on the series.
IGN: What sorts of South Park easter eggs will be included?

Christopher Brion: We've got 15 total playable characters and tons of video clips from the series that can be unlocked through the campaign. I believe there are close to 100 video clips that can be unlocked by completing various tasks in the game.

IGN: We haven't heard from this game since it was announced at E3 2008. Does its reemergence suggest that it will be releasing soon?

Christopher Brion: Very soon. South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! will be released on Tuesday, October 7th which is also the same day as the premiere of the new season of South Park on Comedy Central. We are also previewing the game and letting fans have a hands-on chance to play at Comic-Con this week in San Diego.

'Xbox LIVE Indie Games' Service Announced

As part of the gradual evolution of Microsoft's Community Games movement, fostering fresh game development ideas and indie games, Microsoft today announced a series of changes and updates to their XNA Creators Club service.

A load of changes and updates have been announced. For starters, 'Xbox LIVE Community Games' is no more; instead, the service has been rebranded 'Xbox LIVE Indie Games', coinciding with the release of XNA Game Studio 3.1 development software.

Pricing has been given a total overhaul, better reflecting the size and complexity of the game. Game prices now start at 80 MS Points for games less than 50MB in size. Games that currently cost 800 points will stay that way, but all new releases will have their maximum price capped at 400 Points. Other price changes will be rolled out by late October affecting current and new releases.

All game creators now have 'Reputation', affecting their rank and rating within XNA Creators Club. To aid sites like IGN, developers can now send media outlets 'Tokens' to download copies of their indie games. Handy!

Finally, Japan and Germany can begin to submit their independent creations to the service. Germany will have access to the service from August 11, 2009.

Make sure you check out the Official XNA Creators Club. site for the full list of changes and updates on the way.

they had another preview program for the dashboard update, similar to the one they did for the NXE. I got in, and it seems like anyone that signed up did. The update goes out today sometime.
