lol you guys aren't very good at ebay shopping obviously. used 80gb's go for less than 400. (not many, most are just above 400, but way less than 500.)

It's not that we are bad at ebay shopping (because I am a seller/buyer on there), you could possibly get yourself stuck in the same situation that has you are in now without a PS3. We are just trying to help out as we know with this generation, hardware is not to be trusted to last long for some people. By purchasing at a Best Buy, you have a piece of mind with that 2 year warranty in hand that if it breaks you can get another one.

Every person that is selling a ps3 I'm interested in I ask about the warranty situation. If there is none, or it's limited, I find someone else. Best I found is 90 days. You think that's worth it?

Moses, what are you going to do once those 90 days run out and if the thing breaks in 6 months?

lol you haven't learned Moses. Just save up, go to the movies a bit less and get it from a major retail store.

You'll save yourself the hassle later on.

It's not that I haven't learned, I just want to get the best deal I possibly can. The reason I don't want to get one at best buy is because I'll be paying $500 now, when in just a couple months it will be $400 and I'll have that undeniable feeling of guilt. I don't feel like waiting for the price to drop though because from now until September, there are a few titles I can't hold out for.

I'm sure in reality the best buy deal would be the way to go, but I'm on a tight budget and $500 is too much right now. The warranty is the only problem...

Moses, just wait then man for the $399 price drop. It should be coming soon.....or......buy the system from Best Buy, you have 30 days and if the price drops within those 30 days you get to price match. If the price hasn't dropped yet, just return the darn thing since BB will take the system back opened.

I posted this in the NCAA sounds forum where it was promptly ignored, was wondering if anyone here could help me out:

I'm fairly new to the PS3 and have bought a flashdrive but I have no idea what the hell i'm doing in regards to transferring my music from my PC to my PS3. I vaguely recall reading that the PS3 had to have certain folders on the flash drive to read, can anyone help out?

I've googled and read a ton of crap about how to setup servers and whatnot from your PC to your PS3 but i'm just wanting to do the basic stuff here.

Just press triangle on the flash drive and select display all. You can browse all your folders as if you were on your PC.

yea well i always purchase off ebay and i have been lookin for a ps3 as im in your situation.I dont want to wait until September.I dont trust getting 80gb used unless im getting games with it because its basicly like buying it in stores.I have been constantly lookin on ebay this week for 80gb ps3 and all i see mostly is the mgs4 bundle and they are like 585 buy it now.screw that,and i dont know if i want to get the motorstorm bundle because the new motorstorm will be out soon.

thanks a million! it worked. now if i could figure out the same thing on the 360. any way to copy music via flash drive on there do you know pared? or do i have to burn a CD for that?

I don't remember. Haven't used the 360 in a while. I know you can play from it and view the files... not sure if you can copy off of a removable drive.

No, you can only view/play the songs from a flashdrive. You can't copy them to the HD. I've always been annoyed by that.

This probably has been answered in one of the PS3 threads but I don't want to search tons of posts...

How do you transfer music from a USB flashdrive to the PS3? No music shows up. I've pressed triangle and "Display All" but still no music.

EDIT: Nevermind lol. Just read the posts above me and I won't be able to copy them anyway. Should've read first. But why aren't my songs showing up at all?
