Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
I understand where everyone is coming from that we should just have larger updates throughout the year instead of 10+ in a year. The nice thing is that they are always implementing something or fixing an issue right away with these updates. I would prefer that than having to wait 5-6+ months for an update.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
While many of the updates (2.40/2.41) do undoubtedly improve the system, what about these "stability" updates like 2.42? I may not even have (or ever have) the games that are being addressed in these updates. These are the updates that I get frustrated with, especially when they pop up when I'm just wanting to play a quick couple of games of GTA or COD 4 online before I go to bed.Ryan Spencer

Sony should just spell out for us which games they are addressing in these updates. Why be so open about every other update but give such a vague statement about these "stability" updates?Ryan Spencer

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
hi spencer, the one thing that I noticed with 2.42 was that the Trophies now load up much faster. Before, they would take forever and I am glad that this was fixed. As I stated earlier, I can see where you are coming from with these little updates being annoying. But who knows what else they may have fixed that could have been unstable in the back end.
I guess the real problem is me having such a slow internet connection. If it would take 10-15 minutes to download and install like some of you guys say it does for you, I'd have no problem with it. It takes me 45-60 minutes to download these things though.Ryan Spencer

That's cool. I don't think I've played any games yet that support trophies, so I didn't notice that.

I'm pretty sure if you download the update file from Sony's website and transfer it with a USB flash drive or a external HD it would be a much faster process for you.Comment
