What other RPG would you compare the gameplay mechanics too?
As far as battle goes, it's turn based, no active time battle, 4 to a party. For something anyone can relate to, I'd say it's closest to FFX. It's different because of a heavy importance on elemental strengths and weaknesses - Hitting a weakness knocks the target down and allows the attacker another action, and that goes for the enemies as well as your party. Status effects are also quite effective compared to other RPG's, including 2 types of instant kill attacks (light and dark).

The social links and personas are a very unique feature that can IMO really only be compared to other Shin Megami Tensei games (including Persona, an offshoot of that main series).

Hmm, OK, thanks for the feedback. I think I'll probably go with normal, only because I'd feel weird investing 50+ hours into a game on Easy. I'd rather have to struggle through a rough learning curve than sink 30 hours on a game, only to find it unchallenging on the backend.

By all means, I definitely think it's more rewarding to play a higher level. And there is plenty of in-game help in the Velvet Room if you get lost.

Just beat the game tonight on hard, and it was extremely satisfying.

Got Virtua Tennis 4 for Christmas. Game is a lot of fun and has solid graphics for a portable title. I played on Normal and it took me 10 games before I won 1. Finally got a handle on the controls and while I still lost 0-6, 5-7, it was a fun time. Like the old-school players in the game, too. I used Boris Becker and took on Stefan Edberg.

Sounds just like the console version then, brutal game but I've rarely had so much fun losing so badly.

All sizes of PS Vita memory cards are on sale at Sony.com. 20% off retail plus an additional 25% when placed in the cart. Picked up a 32Gb for $59.99 + tax. Go go go!

After going for Amazon's $10 4 GB deals, I hate seeing this. Not that those were bad deals (at the time there was nothing like it, and no indication of there being anything similar), but even 8 GB doesn't go that far if you're doing more than putting save files on it.

A 32 GB at $60 would pretty effectively end any problems I was ever going to have with not having enough space. And I just got an Xmas windfall with nothing else to spend on until late January (Ni No Kuni). What to do...

Fantastic deal! Picked up the 32gb, so I'll be going all digital from here on out.

Question: can I transfer movies purchased on my PS3 over to my Vita? Also, can I buy movies from the PS Store from the Vita?

I'll be doing some travel for work this spring and not sure if I'll have access to Netflix when I'm gone, so I'd like to have some movies on the memory card for backup.

As for purchasing movies, yes. I don't know if everything on the PS3 store is available, but it seems like there's quite a selection. Someone more familiar with video purchases on there would know.

Re:tranferring: I don't know if you can transfer them directly, but the very short list of video content I've purchased (bought, not rented) on PS3 also shows up on my Vita download list. That means you can download them from the store directly to the Vita.

BTW, I really like that you can copy Vita stuff to the PC wirelessly now - one less reason to go looking for my charge cable when I don't really need it.

OK, well apparently I did not get the 32gb ... got an e-mail saying that there was an error processing my request. Went back to the site to try and re-purchase and now the 32gb is out of stock.

Guess I'm stuck with my 8gb. Thought about picking up a 16, but I really wanted the 32.

Anyone know of any other deals on memory cards?

I'd hope that when the price goes down in the next month or 2 on the handheld that the memory prices come down to about the sale levels too.

From the comments section of CAG:

If anyone has a Sony retail store near them, I just walked out with a price matched 32gb card for $59.99. At first they said they'd match it to the online price shown of 79.99, but I showed him how adding all the other size cards to the cart took off an additional 25%. He checked with the store manager who said he would match the extra discount. YMMV, of course, but worth a try if there is a store nearby. I called and got this taken care of over the phone before driving 20 mins to the store, and when I got there it was waiting for me with a sticker that said to pm the website at $59.99. First time buying at the Sony retail store, and I'm very impressed with their service.
