Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Good luck finishing those games. I know you bought the Vita for The Show, as I did. Those non-sports games are great but The Show takes up most of my gaming time because it is that well-done on the Vita.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Depends on how you spin the numbers, if you include all the "free" games (AR games, free games like Jetpack Joyride, plus games, cross buy games, etc) I'm probably at 95% digital for my Vita.
For paid games though I'm 100% physical, and that won't change until digital is significantly less than retail, which won't happen because of the retailer choke hold they have on console makers.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I'm with you. I only buy physical copies. Digital should be way less money, but it isn't. They should be factoring in no manufacturing cost, no wholesaler fees and no ability for purchaser to sell a used copy. I see no benefit to buying digital if they are the same cost.I guess I'm in the 5% as I pretty much refuse to buy digital. I like having the physical copy of the game. Just something about looking up at my shelf and seeing my games in cases, not to mention if I want something back out of my investment I can trade or sell the game. I really hate the thought of everything being digital at some point and at this time I will not support it.
I am somewhat of a retro collector, having numerous Dreamcast, Genesis, Xbox 1 and Playstation 1 games so that too plays in my decision not to support digitally released games.
A little old fashion maybe but that comes with my age I suppose.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I have been playing a ton of Vita since I got MLB 13 (I had never played 12). Anybody who says mobile gaming is better on an iPhone or iPad has never used a Vita. My iPhone is a great way to pass time, but that is not mobile gaming. The Vita truly is mobile gaming! If only Sony competently marketed the Vita, more would know of this gaming nirvana!Comment

Glad you are enjoying MLB 13. It is a fantastic game, as is MLB 12. SCEA really did a great job with the Vita versions of The Show ... and this is coming from a guy that enjoyed the PSP games a few years ago.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Disgaea 3 for Vita free w/PS Plus tomorrow makes me one happy dood.
For that remake they did change things up a bit..moved the locations of all the powerup pods, sub tanks, and heart tanks. It was literally impossible to miss the first upgrade, the dash, in the original, but it's pretty easily missed in this one if you're not paying attention. I had about 6 Heart tanks and 1 Sub-tank, and had beaten 6 of the boss robots before I even found it. And the upgrades are a sequential thing - you have to find each one to be able to reach the next one.
I agree that it's a very tough game without those upgrades, but once I had the dash I went through the rest without too much difficulty (no more than I had on the original, at least). The remake also refills your weapon energy on each life, which is a huge difference from the original MMX. In the old days (ugh, did I really just use that phrase?) you had to really watch how much you used special weapons in each stage so you had enough for the boss, but now even if you die to said boss you'll start in the corridor right before it with full weapons.
The upgrades, btw, are pretty essential to beating the game as Sigma will hand you your *** very quickly if you can't dash.Last edited by bcruise; 03-25-2013, 09:26 PM.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
DS is the best version, but you will have to pay about twice more.
The DS version has the anime cutscenes and extras from the PSX version, SNES's fast load times, 2 new dungeons, 1 new ending, and a monster arena.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
They're essentially the same core game and look identical, but the DS version has an extra sidequest and accompanying ending, to give the game 13 in all.
It also uses both DS screens to give the option of putting all the battle menus on one of them, leaving the actual battlefield screen very clean. It's also faster loading than the PS1 classic, which was of course based on a CD. Both this and the other part of FF Chronicles, Final Fantasy IV, suffered pretty heavily from that loading.
The load times are really the only thing that drag the PS1 classic version down, but it's enough for me to recommend the DS version over it if you have a choice. You really can't go wrong with either though, and the PS Classic is probably a few dollars cheaper at this point.Comment
