Looks like target is dumping all-things-Vita, may be worth checking out for some games on the cheap.

This is such a great system and it sucks that it failed. Hopefully there are still games being developed even if its indie games for the next couple years.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Shu blamed mobile (phone) gaming and price structure for the Vita's lack of success and why there's no Vita 2, sparking a fresh round of 'Vita failed because of Sony' articles... as the 3DS flopped and then sold 40m units in the same time period.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
If this was out in 2005 and used Remote Play with PS3 as it does with PS4, pricing all cards 75% cheaper... this would have been the hottest thing of all time for about three years straight.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
You are exactly right - Nintendo proved the phone games were not fatal to a gaming device. I don't think phone gaming killed the Vita any more than electric cars killed regular ones. Phone games are not "real" games to me, and I don't think I am alone. I would never play my real sports games on a phone. The Vita is a miniature console. The phone is only capable of time wasters, not real games. They are just not the same thing. I think the Vita was done in by poor marketing, poor first party software support (well, poor support in general, but first party had to set the standard) and ridiculous memory card prices. I truly believe the Vita could have been successful if Sony did not have its head up its arse.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Something we figured was coming....
The Sony PS Vita is a cracking, turbo charged handheld with lots of amazing games, and even the ability to stream PS4 titles too, but it’s no secret that it’s never sold in meaningful numbers. Now after four years, Sony is finally calling it quits on the device, confirming in a new interview that it is no longer developing any first party games for the console.
In an interview with Japanese site 4Gamer, translated by DualShockers, Sony Computer Entertainment senior vice president Masayasu Ito confirmed that Sony’s own studios are no longer making games for the device. “Currently, first party studios have no titles in development for PS Vita,” he said.

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Got mine when it released. No regrets at all. If all the ps vita did was remote play then it would still be worth it for me. I do hope that they continue to keep the vita and ps4 compatible with each other with updates.Bucs, Lighting, Rays,Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Guess that means no more MLB The Show for the Vita.
Such a shame that Sony didn't properly market this handheld and overcharged for memory cards. And, when Sony did market the system, they were dishonest about what it could/couldn't do. That certainly didn't help.
I have enjoyed my Vita from Day 1, but this is definitely sad news because this also all but confirms Sony getting out of the handheld gaming market.Currently Playing:

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Memory cards and button parity with the dual shock controllers were what did it in for me. No profile management prevented a potential revival last year.
One big case study of what not to do.
