Wow that's pretty bad if they don't fix the Madden Issue.

sucks cause it the only Madden they made for the Vita and it was decent before the update.

Thanks for the links. Do you guys think Vita is a good investment these days? I'll mainly be using it to play MLB The Show while my girlfriend hogs up the TV with her stupid reality shows. It'll also be nice to play on the go but how is the support for it? I thought Sony was leaving the mobile market?

It is a great investment for me. I love being able to play The Show on my Vita and PS4 and transferring my franchise save back and forth. If only they still made a Madden for the Vita (and if they made a version of NHL for the Vita). Remote play is of some use, but having a version dedicated to the console is so much better.

it crashes in the middle of a game on all models slim and original.

This stinks. I am in the AFC Championship game in my Colts franchise. Would've liked to have been able to finish the season out, but sounds like that's not going to be the case unless Sony releases another update that fixes the issue.

Sony is blaming EA/laying responsibility on them for a fix.

Then I'm even less optimistic about a fix. Hard to see EA doing something about a game they abandoned after 1 year.

Had to see the Madden 13 crash with my own eyes. Got about 7 min. into the first quarter and "An error has occurred. The PS Vita system will be shut down." message popped up on my screen.

This is ridiculous.

Happens every time..


when this initially happened I thought it was my ps vita so I tried my other one same thing . I refused to believe it but you cannot get through a game without it crashing

yep which means it will never get fixed because EA is not going to patch a game that old.


Bad thing is Sony is still selling this on PSN and its defective

I don't see how they can be expected to even, it's a 2+ year old game on a platform they no longer support. Getting a team to put together a patch and then paying Sony to distribute it is a money hole.

There are other issues with the patch (friend was complaining about a suspend bug or something that kills his battery / requires a hard reset), perhaps Sony will fix whatever is causing this with the next stability update.

Madden isn't the only game with issues there are others but with Madden in particular its just unplayable

I am with you guys being extremely upset with Madden no longer working on the Vita. How dare Sony blame this on EA and say they have to fix it. The game worked until Sony released the update. As far as I know, Sony approved Madden for the Vita when it was released (or it never would have been released). So now we updated our Vitas, without being advised Madden would no longer work (yeah, I know they didn't know - but, that is their risk, not ours) and the game we bought no longer works, but it isn't Sony's fault? As far as I am concerned, they rendered Madden useless by their actions and I want my $30 back (I really want Madden to work, but that does not seem like an option). I am an attorney, but I do not handle class action suits, which is what this needs. Any other attorneys on this board?

It is a little odd that Sony would lay the blame at EA's feet when as others have mentioned, the game worked just fine up until the last firmware update. Reminds me of a previous update that bricked certain memory cards and Sony tried to say it was user error at first before admitting their mistake and rolling out a fix.

Sony can't hold back the system because a publisher decides it can't keep a game current.

As much as I agree with you. My only question is this:

Hasn't Sony all but abandoned the Vita so was the update worth it? Obviously it only screwed up one game that we know of but its not to say there aren't more out there.

I may try to play an old version of MLB The Show and see if it messed with older versions.

Maybe they want people to play Madden 15 via Remote Play or something, which isn't a bad alternative but of course requires you to have a great connection with your PS4, much less actually own the console.
