Changed plans (again), going to buy the system/4GB memory card at buy.com. Today buy.com has 10% back on purchases so that's $270 with $27 back, without tax and free shipping ($22 cheaper than Target after tax, downside are that $27 is in buy.com credit, but that's easily spent, and it will take longer to get it).

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Not with the Vita as it stands right now, no. People have gotten some PS3 games to work via remote play using "different" PS3 firmware, but I'm not sure if that's a topic for this board.
Will it be possible later? Vita's remote play was demoed by Sony by running Killzone 3 on it, so you'd have to think that functionality is coming sooner or later...Proud member of Red Sox Nation!Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Once you've tried Marvel, can you say if you have any problems with the controller motions (particularly the dragon punch motion - toward, down, down-toward)? I've had some problems with that on Blazblue, and I can do it with ease on a normal controller D-Pad.
I think I might be nudging the left analog a bit when I do the motions on the D-Pad directly above it, and those extra inputs are throwing it off. Would like to know if I'm the only one with this problem. Also, I wish I could just turn the analog stick off entirely for games like that.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
For those who have played Hot Shots on the Vita:
1) I've read mix reviews but I would like to hear your thoughts on the difficulty and replay value. I prefer difficult games and in return that adds replay value.
2) How many courses and do they vary much? Just read there are 6 courses just curious if there will be more coming?
ThanksLast edited by Rules; 02-20-2012, 08:40 PM.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Yeah there are six courses with a long tee mirror on each. The PS3 game was the same and then offered three more courses through dlc. Hopefully the Vita gets support. There are a good bit of items to unlock so that's some replayability along with online tournaments. Hopefully they patch to allow private online game rooms. The characters level as well so if you are a completionist then you will have plenty to do.

PS Vita FW 1.61 released
Now that some of you early adopters have PlayStation Vita in your hands, we’re going to begin keeping you posted on any changes to system software here on PlayStation Blog.
In preparation for Wednesday’s wide release of PS Vita, tonight we’re making System Software Update (v1.61) available for download. If you are just turning on your PlayStation Vita for the first time, this update will add the following features:
- A new application, (Maps), has been added to the home screen.
- In addition to photos, you can now take videos using the Photo application.
- You can now publish stories about the products that you rate in PlayStation Store to Facebook.
- In near, players’ information is now displayed on the Discoveries screen. On this screen, a list of the online IDs of up to 100 players that you have encountered, and the number of times that you encountered each player, are displayed. Tap an online ID to display that player’s profile screen.
- The Mac OS version of Content Manager Assistant for PlayStation has been released. The Windows version has also been updated.
- You can download Content Manager Assistant from here. Refer to the website to find out how to install the application.
If you have already updated your PS Vita to 1.60, 1.61 will improve certain aspects of the system software.
There are a few ways to update the firmware on your PS Vita:
Select “System Update” under the “Settings” menu and download the firmware directly to your PS Vita over Wi-Fi.
Connect your PS Vita to a PS3 or a PC/Mac and update via Content Manager.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 02-20-2012, 09:56 PM.Comment
