How is Kinectimals? My kids keep asking for this so we are thinking of picking it up.

if you have young kids they will like it, you can name your tiger cub, pet it brush it teach it tricks and it mimics you i think they will enjoy it

I hosted a paquiao fight party and had the kinect going before the fight. Played mostly kinect sports and man what a hit. My 10 year old neice killed my in boxing. Those short punches she was throwing was like fighting a kung fu master.

Volley ball is really fun and we kept playing track and filed a lot.

I also have Shape Yourself as well and it is great too. It is really accurate and is a good workout. I've held off Ea sports for the fact that yourself is cheaper and it was specifically designed for the kinect as the ea sports was created on all platforms and I think won't be as good as Shape Yourself.

Thanks sadams, I'll look into getting this for them later this week. Out of the motion launches, Kinect has had the best launch line-up imo so far. Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Your Shape have been winners and hearing that Kinectimals is good that's great.

Had a chance to play it this morning at Best Buy and had a real blast with it. The kids already had it on their Christmas list but I wanted to try it before I dove in. Definitely buying it now as I walked out of TRU with Kinnect Sports and Dance Central for $70 with the buy one get one 40% off. Now the big decision is do I just buy the kinect or go with the bundle package and get a new Xbox to replace my old elite.

Mine should arrive today. Wife wants to save it for the kids til Christmas, but I'm not sure I can wait that long to try it out.

Am I the only one looking at Kinect as a fitness tool?

I will be going to Walmart this evening to pick up a Kinect that I should have grabbed last night when I saw a few in stock. I'm thinking I could shed some fat this winter by picking up EA Active 2 and Dance Central.

Kinect Sales Top 1 Million at Launch
Microsoft on pace to beat 5 million year-end units sales.

Microsoft has sold over 1 million Kinect units worldwide in the first ten days since launch. The company stated it is on pace to beat its 5 million expected sales by the end of this year.

"We are appreciative of the response we have seen from consumers that has culminated in sales of more than 1 million units in the first 10 days on the market for Kinect for Xbox 360," said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft.

"This is a great start to the holiday season, and we will continue to work with our retailer partners to keep pace with high demand and deliver against our plan to sell more than 5 million Kinect sensors worldwide by the end of this year."

Microsoft clarified to IGN saying the reported Kinect sales are sold-through to customers.

I'd only get it if I had kids or a bunch of friends to play it with. I wouldn't characterize it as a good single player experience. I've had it for a couple weeks and while I still enjoy it, the luster has worn off of it somewhat.

Definitely for the family, or groups of people. We broke it open tonight, and the wife and 3 kids had an awesome time with it. I picked up Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Kinectimals, the fitness game, and then there's the game that came with it. I feel odd saying it, but the dance game was pretty awesome. Kinect sports was fun, too.

Basically, if you don't like seeing your kids sitting around all day playing videogames, the Kinect is perfect. The kids get to play their games, and also get to release some energy at the same time. We had to take a couple breaks throughout the night to catch our breath.

Does Kinect work, if your living room is small?

I had no interest in Kinect when it was first announced but I have to admit Dance Central looks pretty fun. I'm just worried the hardware doesn't do a good job of tracking your movements.
