FAQ I read says most Gamestops have some permissions or something to transfer for you.

My GS said they'd do the trade in etc.. then I could transfer over after. I kept my other system though.
I still don't get what the pain is. Hit a few buttons then sit both systems down and walk away. Unless I'm missing something.
The biggst annoyance was the new XL has the SD card under case so have to take back cover off.
Wanted to go with a 32gb card though.

    From FAQ:

Some retailers, such as GameStop have special permissions when letting owners trade in their old 3DS when buying a new one. Many stores let you complete the trade-in offer for credit after the purchase and transfer. Make sure to ask.

Oh yeah. Already fought some spirits etc.. as a "Fledgling Wizard"
Have no idea about fighting if you are only a woodcutter etc.. but as a wizard you do (As well as a Paladin etc.. I assume)
Fighting is basic so far like I stated earlier.

I'm becoming HP for some reason lol

Just now realized after posting that screen that you can cycle through other attributes:
      Mine currently are:
      Attack 5
      Def 13
      Magic Atk 20
      Magic Def 21
Next page gives "Life Stats: you acquire:
Mining, woodcutting, fishing, smithing, sewing, carpentry, cooking, alchemy

Next is Basic Stats: Strength, Vitality, Intelligence, focus, Dexterity and luck.
Next page is what you are equiped with and final page is what tools you have: Pickaxe, axe, rod etc..

Yeah, not sure if Best Buy would do that, for instance....just all something we shouldn't have to really deal with as a consumer, IMO.

You are right though, i've read that Gamestop is pretty good about this.

But you have to do the same thing say for a new PS4 HDD etc... I guess that's my point. Any upgrade or new system requires some time consuming transfer stuff. I started mine then watched WD lol

Yeah, but you don't usually trade in a old HD for a new one right then....most stores won't let you trade in the old one and transfer stuff like GameStop....

Plus with PS4/Xbox One game saves are in the cloud, so I could re-download my stuff if I preferred to go that route (like I did when I added a 2nd One). Or I could use external HD to pull my stuff off and transfer later.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that Nintendo's online user system and DRM is pretty crazy.

As far as saves or SD card.. you can do that with PC real quick. I just chose to do it through wifi.

but yeah I know you're not alone. I just don't feel it's a huge issue at all.
              It's all good

              Last thing about Fantasy Life.
Finally did some real exploring/gathering and almost died once. Wasn't paying attention to HP. Magic refills after a bit it looks like but health doesn't seem to but you can use Earth magic to heal yourself.
In the middle of gathering a certain grasshopper and some other stuff for a few different quests.
That's it for FT unless anyone has any questions...

                Ok so I lied...
                Fantasy Life stuff:

                Spoiler

I think I'm going to go to guild office after this quest and switch over to either a woodcutter or Angler life for a while. I have a couple quests I need to be able to have certain abilities.
Really like the size of the game. Not real hard but a fun experience. Like I said it's basically an RPG/Animal crossing hybrid.

Update:decided to start learning blacksmithing. Once I have good abilities crafting weapons, armour etc.. I'll move to something else. Any abilities learned already (like from my Wizard lifestyle) remain.. so you don't lose anything.

An no you won't lose pre-installed games.

It transfers everything at once (Saves, Data and licenses)...
No different IMO than having to backup all your stuff and transfer to new HD etc...

Going to pre-order Xenoblade Chronicles 3D this week also.

                  Thanks for posting that

Guess I'll have to wait until I can get out and get my memory card because it wouldn't do me no good to transfer until then

                    Nintendo 3DS

Fantasy Life was my personal GotY for 2014. I put well over 200 hours into it in 2 months.

Edit: Basic premise. There are 3 "types" of jobs: Gatherers, Crafters, and Fighters. You can start as any job but essentially, this is how the game works: Gatherers collect materials. Crafters take those materials to make weapons/armor/tools/food which are then given to the Fighters. The fighters fight harder monsters so that you can gather better materials to be crafted so that the fighters can fight stronger monsters. It's an incredibly addictive cycle.

Yes, you do get houses but it's nowhere near as "fun" decorating them as it is in Animal Crossing. The extra houses are mostly useful as fast warps between cities.

Am I missing something in fire emblem? Started a game on hard and it was smooth sailing until chapter 5. Chapter 5 is impossible though. Is there a way to level up my characters that doesn't involve pay dlc?

Reeking boxes. Buy reeking boxes to spawn enemies on completed levels. They cost 500 but you'll always earn 1000 for completing them so you'll come out ahead.

4800? They're always 500. Even the next to last level sells them for 500. If you get a certain DLC, you can earn a card that makes everything in-game half-off.
