I had a DS Lite and enjoyed games like Zelda, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Trace Memory and of course, Mario Kart and Super Mario. After a while though, I couldn't find any games to play, as they seemed to really skew towards a much-younger crowd.

How's the 3DS library? Can you play the games without having the 3D effect? Would you recommend the 3DS over the DS Lite?

The library is much better now after the drought that followed the launch. Resident Evil Revelations is great, Kid Icarus is amazing if you can get past the controls. If you like the Mario games the one for the 3DS is also great. Mario Kart 7 and the Ace Combat game is very good too.

There is a slider for the 3D effect so it can be adjusted. You can turn it all the way off if you want no 3D effect.

Would definitely recommend the 3DS over the DS as the 3DS has dropped in price nicely and it will play any DS game, just not in 3D.

The e-shop is nice that they are now giving us some demos to play. Games can be purchased and downloaded from the e-shop, basically some older game boy games and some virtual games. Games like the old Metroid game, etc.

The new firmware is out. (Yes, it blocks flashcarts. Yes, hackers have found a way around the flashcart blocking.)

Got my Circle Pad Pro delivered today. Makes MGS3DS much more playable. Going to try the Resident Evil demo with it tonight.

Now I just want a good FPS for it in 3D!

Probably going to throw mine on Ebay. Played it for about 5-10 hours then haven't touched it since.

                    Only one circle pad still...

Top screen is 4.88 inches and bottom screen is 4.18 inches. Slightly better battery life.

I was hoping for a second circle pad, but I think I will still bite on the 3DS XL. There's enough software of interest.

I don't think Nintendo ever adds a second circle pad to the 3DS. I just don't see them alienating so many early adopters like that.

The IGN article says it won't include an AC Adapter... WTF? I can only assume they meant a cradle. If it truly doesn't include an AC adapter to charge the damn thing, um.... Lol.

                                No adapter is pretty dumb.

I really hope most of the software they showed gets localized -- Project X Zone, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, Bravely Default, and EX Troopers.

Those along with Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate, Paper Mario Sticker Star, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle, SMT4, and Kingdom Hearts is a nice lineup.
